Unhappy

Just had an off in the rain. Coming up to a corner maybe a little too fast (didnt think I was going too fast at the time, but must have been) lifted off mid bend and the back end came round. I caught it with opposite lock and it came round the other way, caught that and it went the other way completely. Backwards through a fence and hedge!

The car bottomed out in a ditch, and had to get it towed out! It was ok to drive home (only 1 mile) but has dented the bootlid, cracked the spoiler, damaged the bumpers front and back, scratched the door (might only be mud from the fence/hedge) and I don't know what it has done underneath.

Not happy, but at least no-one was injured, and I have protected no claims with Liverpool and Victoria, so should get it sorted.

Bad news Chod
Glad no one was injured
We all make mistakes, thankfully i havent been unlucky enough yet to have an off in the scoob.

Let us know how you get on with Liverpool Victoria, i have no reason to believe that they will cause any fuss but, I took out a policy with them at the beginning of the year and would be interested to know how good they are at dealing with claims.(just in case)

Cheers

Chris

Thanks guys

No I didnt put anymore power down with the opposite lock, probably too wet to of made a difference anyway. I know putting more power down is a way of getting out of it, but increasing speed when all your senses are telling you that you want to stop takes some *****.

It has cracked my mid level spoiler, anyone know the part number of a high level?

I haven't spun the scoob yet but the AXGT went off backwards the other year.

If there was a kerb and pavement involved, I'd check the state of your wheels (including the inner rims). Also might be getting the geometry checked. At the same time check for any mud, grass, other crap, in the wheels and tyres.

With the AXGT I bent the OSR trailing arm, wrote off an alloy and stuffed loads of mud and grass into the NSF wheel/tyre bead. Next morning the tyre was flat though it got me off to the nearest tyre place for a refit.

Fingers crossed.....

Vindaloo.

I used to have an AXGT.....Lots of fun.

No curbs involved, just a 2 foot drop, a fence and a hedge. Good job I went in back end first or it might have rolled.

I have phoned L&V and they are getting a company in Cov to come and pick it up on monday, and I get a courtesy car.

Sorry to hear about that Terry, sounds as though you were unlucky enough to get into one of those situations you can't escape from. Glad you were not hurt and I hope the car is easily sorted.
