With the date for the pick-up of my new PPPed STi8 rapidly approaching, I was surprised not to have received any calls or information from the dealer. So I phoned them yesterday and was told there was no one around to deal with my enquiry. They took my details and today I had a call from a sales guy. He told me that my car wouldn't have a PPP for a while, that nothing had been done about ordering the mudflaps I requested a couple of weeks back, and there had been no p/x value calcualted for my current car as I'd asked them to do. Now I know these things sometimes don't go as smoothly as they should, but I'm due to pick the thing up on March 1st and I hadn't even been told if the car was in, and more importantly, that I wasn't going to get what I'd asked for. If I hadn't called them I'd probably still be in ignorant bliss until the day itself, only to be bitterly dissapointed when I arrived at the showroom bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

CD Bramall will have a hard job recouping their lost Brownie Points after this little episode. In fact I'll probably take to the Swindon dealership to get it serviced instead once I've got the thing. Anyone know what they're like ?

I think that's pretty much par for the course these days, two guys I know drive 30k+ beemers and the service they get from the local dealer is appaling, no courtesy cars available, recurring problems never getting sorted, having to get BMW UK involved etc.

My local suby garage charge about £7 a day for a 'courtesy' corsa, I dont mind too much cos I didnt get my scoob from em but if Id have spent 25k+ on an prodrive sti or something Id be going friggin ballistic!!!!

I've had no problems at all with my dealer, in fact the sales team are on the ball and have sorted out every query that I have had. Deal all sorted now, finance, cash , p/x and has been for sometime. Pick my Sti8 up on Saturday and have seen the car today

I can't believe that someone would do a deal without knowing what they are getting for their car or the guaranteed price to change ?
Playing into a dealers hands i'd say

Well Steve777, I thought I did know "what I was getting" because it was on the order sheet I signed back in the middle of January. I ordered the PPP and requested a valuation for p/x at that time. I was told at that time that everything would be ready for March 1st, and I took them at their word. I told them I would take the p/x if the price was right otherwise I would sell the old car privately. It needed to be valued closer to the time as it was still being used and the mileage was increasing. I have no idea what you're on about as far as "or the guaranteed price to change" is concerned, so I can't comment. Any more cogent for you now Stevie Boy? Drive carefully, won't you.
