Rainfall has been measured 166 days of the year where I live (midlands).

Soooooo.........I will stick to real rear drive as it drier more often and I have no wish to drive on the limits in the wet.

I NEVER want to hear people go on about how good the Scoob is in the wet, lets hear about it in the dry as its dry more than its wet.

The new yard stick is "dry twisties"

The dry adhesion limits of any scoob are scarily high to the point that you'll lose your license or have a massive accident if you get it wrong...

I love wet weather, it gives me a chance to explore the limits of the car without endangering myself, my car and other road users on a whim.

Or am I missing the point of your post? My apologies if i am , I've just been playing around milton keynes' roundabouts in the wet and rather enjoyed myself

Actuallly, I love dry conditions much more than wet. Call me a wuss, but I'd rather push the limits in the dry than any other time.

 

But it always rains at weekends and bank holidays so is only dry when I'm stuck in the office, scoob is still the best choice.

PS rains in Warrington 364 days a year, roll on June 18th (predicted to be this years dry day)

i pray for dry days, there hasnt really been that many good ones since i have owned mine (oct) and have had to drive to work in snow madness just now and that wasnt that much fun at all. Infact sideways out of my drive i really wasnt expecting. Still, didnt hit anything !! phew.

 

Just because there are 166 days rainfall doesn't mean the roads are dry for the remaining 199 days If you have rain every 'other' day, the roads are never dry in the winter.
When the sun comes out, so do all the sun'day drivers.....better get a motor thats quick on ANY twisty (like an evo )

 

Its great in the snow as the carpark (one of them) where i work had 3 inches of the stuff on and no cars (well 3 but they were out of the way ) so forget the wet and dry and just think of snow covered carparks

If you knew anything about weather you would know that to register 1 days rainfall, you need just a few drops all day.

 

I got my MY02 WRX just before Xmas (chopped in a 172 for it) and even though I was running it in.....(in the dry) it goes round roundabouts like it's on rails, compared to the 172

........2 hours into ownership and my grin was a big as Godzilla cleaning his teeth!!

That NEVER happened with the 172.......

Chiark is the man who has got it right. To find the limits of the Scoob in the dry would be just too fast on public roads, too frightening for people watching. The handling in the wet is so good on the right tyres and with the suspension set up properly that the only time you can practice your car control without upsetting or endangering others is in the rain.

Try living in west cumbria, the midlands is like a desert in comparison. Add mud, snow, ice, suicidal sheep and dopey sightseers and you know, just know, nothing beats a scooby for traction, cornering, control and performance. The only things that come close are 4wd. An M3 is nice, but you can't get the power down on a muddy corner.

personally i enjoy all conditions. they are very changeable all the time in the uk. defo keeps you on you toes.

imagine living somewhere that is dry all the time and then have to cope with proper rain. be a bit like us in the snow, bit sketchy compared with say the fins, swedes.

good to have a mixture IMO

as long as i don't have a front wheel drive car.

 

remember when audi entered the 4WD A4 in the British touring car championship, in the first year they totally blitzed anyone one the track, front or rear wheel and wet or dry. Had to put a weight penalty on them to slow em down and give everyone else a chance, so your average sized saloon car running around 270bhp+ is much faster round a track in 4wd form.

 

Just live in Yorkshire, it seems to rain every bloody day
