Hiya guys, just want to here a few of your opinions on which tyres to hav fitted next. When i bought my MY99 UK Turbo they had pirelli p-zero's 205/45 fitted, however they didnt hav much tread left so i purchased some new ones! I must hav had these on my car now for about 4 mths (approx 6000miles) and they are about to need changing again (with in the next 1000 miles or so, about a mth)!

Now i know the theory is that the better the tyre the softer the tread so ur car sticks to the road more, but i am after some really good tyres as i drive my car reasonably hard but ones that will last abit longer!

Any suggestions??!

Dunc.

Jesus 6 months only out of P zero's !!! I am still ok on mine after nearly 17K. Will need changing soon though

You must be canning the thing day in day out ?

How much does it cost you in fuel

I would go for Toyo's anyway

You can't get Toyo's in 205/45/17 size (assuming you have 17's?) What most people with 17's do, is swap to 215/40/17 as they are much cheaper per tyre and there is loads more choice available. I myself have Toyos and would recomend them. Up to date i've put 9k on them and they're not even half worn. Mine cost £305 fitted from Motorsport Wheels in Leeds.

...............just to add.
6000 miles for P-Zeros What do you do to your car to manage that. Is it a lap of Brands every morning on the way to work?

Same as brun, same deal, same place. Would recommend 'em, and the toyos which IMHO are much better than the Pzeros and about half the price! They are great in the wet (unlike the pirellis) and always progressive whcih is nice

Cool

Question did u get geometry set up proper when u fitted new tyres? Just i got toyos & they are brilliant thoroughly recommend em but equally wood say they aint sum really hard wearing tyre & i didnt get geometry set up straight away & as a result since they were pointing in the rong directions the inside of the front were balder than Duncan goodhews bald bits within a few months!
So toyos or F1's r tyres of choice for most on here but make sure u get car set up proper if u want any duration outa them. Lecture over lol

Mine must be set up well then

Just got 25000 out of a set of 205/50/16 Toyo T1-S and there's still 4mm left!

PS it's a Sport, so no sideways/wheelspin action
