Isn't snow great

Aj and I were on our way to meet Sipie and were stuck in a line of traffic waiting to go through a set of lights. At about the same time we both looked through the turn off to the left to the very large, flat, empty, snow covered car park beyond After a quick nod and a grin at each other we fired into the car park where I nailed a couple of huge drifts and had the car spinning on the spot! It was 30 seconds of sheer delight (and the doughnuts were fun too ) I then pulled back out of the car park and resumed my place in the traffic and to my utter disbelief the other drivers that had seen me do it were smiling and laughing as opposed to frantically calling the police on their mobiles

Long may the snow and understanding public continue

Couldn't agree more! The key IMO is not to take the p1ss! If I'd been spinning around for 10 minutes with full decat in all and the nearby houses then I suspect someone would get p1ssed off!

Really hope the scottish 'drift day out' gets off the ground as I'd love a laid out bend to try and negotiate sideways

Make sure you have a full tank of petrol, just in case!

What's the idea then,...just to find a deserted corned under snow where there's an ideal runoff and just keep ripping round it sideways....now THAT sounds like fun

( are we talking 10 -20 mph corner..right..??)

Last time I checked the plan in scotland was to maybe get Crail for the day and use that. The problem is they use water and diesel (I think) to create the slippery surface so whilst you have bags of fun on the day you spend about 2 days afterwards cleaning up If we can time it with a snowy day then nature will provide

Kenny - dont wana put a damper on your fun but most car parks are classed as public highway and therefore trafic law applies..

..I found this out the hard way after donutting in works carpark and being nicked for it

Nasty What did you get? Points?

I didn't do it for long....about 30 seconds to a minute. Any more than that would worry me because of high revs and boost but no flow into the intercooler and also cause I get dizzy

Long story mate but it involved being spotted by an unmarked CID car, being tailed for 50 miles then a rolling road block on the M40 including the Armed Response Car and the Thames Valley police Helicopter.. I was arrested for being in possession of a knife (work issue stanley blade) then released without charge.. even for the traffic issues.. apparently I was doing 140 in places which is why the chopper was called in.. ( I wasnt )

..AJ knows the full story.. I'm sure she knew about it at the time (Sept 01)

I'll ask her in a minute, but that is absolutely brutal. I can't believe my taxes are funding that sort of opperation!! All that money to catch a guy having a bit of fun in his work car park

Crail is in scotland and a UK car will do doughnuts on a slippy enough surface. You just go full lock and nail the throttle. It will eventually tighten its spin until it spins on the spot

If messing around on snow like that for the first time make sure you have lots and lots and lots of space as you'll be suprised how far the car will slide when provoked like that

****, sorry to hear that bob I know exactly where you are but unfortuately if you were there for hours you'd be pretty obvious from the main road through Penicuik...someone probably grassed you. If your going to play for a while best go somewhere were it won't bother anyone!

I had a go at this last year in Tesco's (empty) over-flow car park. When I pulled up to the store to park, Tesco's security came over and said "Your number has been noted and if you do it again your invitation to visit Tescos will be withdrawn."

Sadly, no snow here yet

Richard.
