Was it any good......and did I miss much??
High points? Low points?? Did Stef drive like a hooligan??
and who threw it into the scenery........

It was pretty good. 0-60 times were cool, some geezer in a cossie getting 3.59 secs!!!! Did anyone go quicker? Went up in a helicopter, which was "nice". But far too many boy racers. Why do they have silly haircuts? Why do they lean forward when they drive? Why do there "bitches" wear really unapproriate clothing (especially shoes)? Why do they modify crap cars? Am I getting old?
Also a multi vehicle crash involving an XR2 and a porche 911, any more info on this??
Managed to convince the "bird" we should get a performance car i.e. Impreza, but she wants an FTO (she thinks they are prettier)

I had a top day out but shame about the P1 incident that cut short my 2nd session he rolled just infront of me at the end of the straight never mind at least the driver is ok. And what is it with Citroen saxos someone please tell me what the attraction is?
Well i have to say after all the hype etc i left it kinda dispointed.
I's never been to trax before and it wasnt as good as the hype made me think.
i enjoyed talking to lots of car enthusiasts of all types, saw some nice cars (not as many as i thought i would), shed loads of cars that looked like an explosion in halfords had embedded the aftermarket dept on (and in) there car.
Some of the stands were good and well set up.
Though i have to say one of the most disapointing 'stands' was our own. Was (with the exception of the ford and peugeot) one of the larger stands there, but looked more like a private car park for scoobies, if i hadn't noticed tyres northampton doing there sterling job in the corner i'd have still been wandering round looking for an 'sidc stand' now.
Out in the sticks relatively small clubs like lancer register etc were well set up and had little tables set up where you could enquire about joining, see pics, club magazimes, merchandise etc, we had................
shame really, as there was shed loads of scoobs out in the fields and on other stands, and if they weren't members it would have seemed a good way to introduce them.
Also an interesinting amount of empty spaces on our stand for a sold out event, perhaps an idea may have been to have a list of those interested in either track session or stand parking that could have been called at the last minute or that morning.
The dragon motorsport rx7 and supra was stunning, as was Moe's fast car featured 106 (did you sell it? - looked worth every penny to me!).

Agree with ptholt, was a bit underwelmed by the whole thing.
Agree with davyboy, too, clearly I am far too old too, and yes, why do they lean forward when they drive?
Went on the copter ride too, which was pretty cool.
Sadly tho, we witnessed P1 crash 1st hand
...it was not pretty and I am just glad the driver was ok. I have done a few track days myself but when you see something like that yourself it makes you think.

I'm not getting at Stef here, but on Wednesday I was told the SIDC stand was full hence I was hunting for a spare ticket & arena pass. I got beaten to the only arena pass that seemed to come up for sale last week.
Sounds like quite a few drop outs then.

Hey! we beat the gerrys 5-1 yesterday, people were hung over..hence the spare places.
Our stand did not appear to stand out like most of the others, but it looked like a proper clubs area with the smell of brakes and Tyres Northampton changing tyres all day. I mean come on, did we not look the part? We could do with a couple of big subaru flags like the Belguim mob have
Mind you, what were we up against? Fast Car and scraggy rough birds with knee high boots and make-up from the post office! Last year was fantastic, this year seemed slow, less busy and somewhat laid back. Last year it was 100mph everywhere, literally pushed along by the crowds.
I think Pete and Stef (well done today lads...I know how much work you put in)
I went to see Rob Mac over at the driver rides area
Thanks Stef for pointing out that was happening today. Some loony took me out, showed me just what an Elise is capable of.
All I heard all day was comments like "bloody hell, look at the scooby area, its massive" and "they dont look fancy many of the scoobs, but they dont need to...they go out on track and show us what its all about" (RS Owners club member with RS Owners club shirt on) and also "damn, these scooby guys love their track action, its good to see they like to do it on the track...the average scooby owner is sensible aren't they!" For me, it just showed that the club is mature in its behaviour. None of the club were mouthing off to people (I saw a row at another club stand lol!) and it was nice that the scooby guys could come and go. The area was better than last year, no masses of people cutting through the pen for the grandstand...nobody banging into car doors and lingering to pinch valve caps.
Personally, the "event" seemed a little quieter than last year. The weather was not belting either..this always makes the day a bit better. Stef and Pete should get a thanks, AFAIK it was the two of them versus the world today.

Well, I had a fantastic day.....
Two great sessions... Got the full time, 'cos everyone was well behaved. Maybee splitting the session into Experienced and Newbie payed off
Interesting that it was the Track Newbie session where the **** hit the fan... Would have thought if you were new to all this, you would pay more attention at the breifing
Personally, I enjoy the Max Power element at the show... These guys are just as passionate about their cars as we are and I enjoy nosing around things that are a bit different
Some of the other sights were quite easy on the eye too
My only gripe... Did anyone see what they had done to that purple Scoobie on the REVS stand... MY GOD
IT WAS HORRIBLE......
Anyway, BIG THANKS for Stef for once again organising a top day out
Back next year? Oh Yes!
Agree with the previous post that said... Lets make more of the stand.... Would be nice to really stand out... A WRC on display perhaps? Someone must have some contacts

Well I had a great day even though I was originally told I had to park in the public car park cus I hadn't got a parking pass! Eventually blagged an orange sticker which meant I could go anywhere in Silverstone!!
Really enjoyed it all, in spite of the fact that my eagerly (and somewhat nervously)anticipated afternoon track session was cut to one lap due to the P1 incident!
Had three attempts on the 0-60 sprint and having never done it before was well chuffed with my 5.7 secs best time
even though Mikee got 5.0!! (in a slower car!!!)
Watch out next time Mikee
- I'm gonna practise so I can beat you to sub 5 secs!!!
It was also really nice to get to know more of you fellow scoobynetters!!

Hi Pete,
Yeah good to see you again and the misses and one and a half children;-)
As you know I didn't stay with the car all day, I'm sure someone will call later.
Your point on the SIDC stand are valid I share the same opinion. Wonder where the membership money goes? and who is responsible for organization, especially for the largest (& last ) show of the year. I have just joint the SIDC and awaiting my bumf through the post.
It's like running a night club and forgetting the DJ, drinks, grub etc and charging folk to come in.
I trust SIDC rely on constructive feedback from it's members which it satisfactorily acts upon.
see you soon

Guys.
Before everyone starts moaning about the amount of space left in the arena, please bear in mind that where we were wasn't the same area we had last year, which was considerably smaller. I was told we were in the same area, but we weren't. It was actually a much bigger and better area, but what am I supposed to do, call everyone on the day and say "Oooh, there's actually space to get you in". Give me a break please.
If everyone booked their tickets well in advance and didn't leave it until the last minute it wouldn't be a problem anyway!
Apart from that, it was great. It wasn't as well organised as previous events (new organisers) and it wasn't as hot. Great that there were more Imprezas there than any other model of car though!
Stef.

I had a good time even if I had to leave early!
This was my second time at Trax, my feeling was that it wasn't as busy as last year, and was even more 'maxxed' than last time. As mentioned previously, I think a combination of predicted rain and the unpredicted footy result kept numbers down.
One point. the SIDC arena was a fantastic location, Subaru certainly had a 'presence' at Trax, hats off to Stef and all involved for securing that area.
Cheers to Mark and the lads at TN for the usual excellent service provided, top stuff!
I feel for the track newbies that were in the session that was cut short, that happened to me last year, can't quite recall the person who stopped last years SIDC session early....
anyway I was in the 11.00 SIDC session this year which personally for me started badly, yet finished better than expected!! There I was, sitting in the pit lane with all the other scoobs patiently waiting for the signal to go, when I flipped my helmet visor up (as you do
). To my horror of of the locating pins pops off and nestles under the passenger seat (of course i didn't see it land at the time) so I'm left with my visor hanging off one side of my helmet and all the other Scoobs driving off (and around me). About a minute later I eventually find the pin, fix the lid and to my delight find that theres time to come out and join the back of the warm-up snake. So I'm dead last...brilliant!!
I decided to keep my distance to about 200 yards or so and in the end had 15 mins of traffic free track time! thats the way to do it
Nice to meet up with the usual suspects @Cheam, Moe who was as enthusiastic as ever...
and the people at NAM - NF going in tomorrow!
Finally big thanks to Andy Tang whose tartmobile became the most expensive wardrobe I've ever used, that guy will always offer to help - top man
oh and I got to the wedding on time - not mine
but my attendance ensured I've still got a love life....
Final thing, on track i caught 1 person towards the end, on the main straight he indicated right, pulled over to the right, and SLOWED down to let me pass. Track etiquette of the highest order. Thankyou
Justin

Ah, you must be the bloke with the Scoobymania exhaust. I was watching from the stands (so I could hear your exhaust) and when you failed to leave the pits somebody near me said "That's not a very good advert for Subarus"

(much to there annoyance, having to wait for me, heavily pregnant wife and a two year old hehehehe)

Yep carl that was me, the helmet stunt was planned so you could hear the exhaust without others around me - Mr Tuckwood I'll have to discuss commission rates soon
