Robo,

I can't stess too highly that you look at the DVLA site first.

You'd be amazed how many plates listed on private sites are actually still available from the DVLA, and usually substanially cheaper.

I nearly bought a plate from one of these sites recently, only to find the DVLA only wanted half the price for it, and their price also includes transfer costs.

Cool

Robo,

I support 100% what Josh says - we have bought 4 plates from DVLA - superb service, just give them a call with the letters/number combination you are looking for and they will tell you what is available!

Can't remember the number but Directory Enquiries will help

Richard

Question

Just tried DVLA site. Quite good prices.

A quick poll:

Do you think P111 LAJ would read as Phil with a little tamper or is it really not worth the risk?

Legal notice. I would never think of doing this

Unhappy

Phil as from September Police will be giving much more attention to incorrectly spaced letters, and only a small number of people will be able to produce number plates for you. They will be given 'licenses' to do plates with their number on and they could receive fines of up to £1,000 for producing funny plates. Good use of tax payers money IMHO (NOT).

Red face

I had heard that the police may become a bit more lenient in the future and chase after "real criminals" because of all the fuss over thousands more GATSO's alienating motorists.

It is still a risk, but worth taking?
