Unfortunately mine too However the dealer located the problem and the middle resonator is rattling due to loose contents. New one on order

Not another one with the bottom end gone surely.

It's getting like the 98 piston slap saga. If it's not modded ther shouldn't be a warranty issue

Question

P1_BEN

Any details about current mileage, what were you doing before it went (high speed cruise then throttle cut), had you just had an oil change, what oil was used?

See the big end thread in drive train also someone was making a list of these events.

Was about mile and a half after I pulled off the motorway, hadn't actually been driving it hard. Still waiting for the dealer to call.

Done 28k and had all services etc to date.

Just a pain.

PS anyone here from Newbury Reading area, About to relocate down there.... whats it like......

Unhappy

P1_Ben, sorry to say that doesn't sound good... yes, if it is what I think it is and as Banshi said, it's a big end bearing that's gone. This has happened to numerous cars, and if quite frankly becoming a joke (not for the victims, mind).

Hope I'm wrong, but all symptoms seems to indicate it's indeed another failed big end.
