Not really getting involved in this, but, my advice would be to make good use of smilies.

i.e. saying `dumb-asses ` at least says it in obvious jest, rather than just saying 'dumb asses'. Problem with the bbs and email is that a person often writes something in jest but when you read it it does not portray any sentiment.

Hence use (and over use ) smilies to portray sentiment.

No criticisms intended

We were on a bit of a flying visit - got to Scoobysport at 10:45, whipped two exhausts off & chucked em in the boot, left at 13:15, arrived Listers at 16:20, did the paperwork, transferred the exhausts to the boots of the new cars( ), left Listers at 17:20, back home near Cambridge at 20:20!!!!!

I thought it was to good to be true........my first post here the other day,and i received decent replies........then i thought perhaps someone might have some wheels 4 sale for my bmw.......and i get a couple of replies saying this is a scooby site blah blah blah.........so does that mean that there is no chance the people on here might have some wheels or might know of some 1 with some 4 sale.......if not....dont reply to my request.........dumb asses.

 

I didn't see your other post about wheels, but it would seem less likely that someone here would have BMW wheels than, say, on a BMW equivalent site. No harm in trying, I suppose.

But what's with calling us all dumb asses? Not exactly going to endear yourself to Scoobynet are you...

I wouldn't go down my local chinese takeaway for a new exhaust system, you are not very likely to find BMW wheels on a Subaru BBS, which is probably why you didn't get the overwhelming response you seemed to be expecting......

Your going to learn the hard and fast way that on this site you get slagged off/ignored or people have a go at the way you phrase something.

Remember - this is a site frequented by people with nothing to do but sit on the web whilst at work and have a laugh sparking up some "heated debate" and then think they are very witty - when in fact they are only half way there (see - i made a crap pun and think im a bloody comedien).

Relax, take everything with a pinch of salt.

Some rules i have learnt:

a) Never say anything that suggests youve been recklass and had a laugh doing it. You'll get your thread closed/slagged off by the do-gooder brigade.

b) Read what youve written TWICE and remove anything that could cause offence (dont say you like GOLD WHEELS whatever you do - you'll be minsemeat!!) unless you can take the heat afterwoods.

c) Dont dare to disagree with any moderators or you'll get grief (particularly ones who drive Cossies HeHe )

d) Dont slag off any companies or make comment like "x is sh1te" or you'll get deleted or Sued!!!

e) Never mess with a guy called PSLewis

f) Never admit to owning a MY01 WRX - or you'll get people telling you your cars slow and ugly (although 5 months on people are slowly coming around and i dont get slagged as much) - sorry - im b1thcin!!

g) Never slag off imports or be pro UK models - again - GRIEF!!

h) Dont be anti Cossie

i) Buy some Broquets - they are simply awsome

j) Remember that most people exaggerate and tell porkies (ive got a 12" **** you know)

k) Always pick other peoples posts to bits if they make any kind of comment you dont like (you've learnt that already i see!!!)

l) Serious stuff about scoobies is found in the Technical Section - less slagging in there (usually).

m) Accept that this site is a bit "Cliquee" -you'll see plenty of double standards!!! (now thats a flameable comment if ever i wrote one!)

n) Have a laugh

o) Come back and enjoy

q) Eat lots of brussels

Ditto M8. Was out on a simliar venture, with a planned out on M'way back via scenic countryside. But as befits an apprentice muppet the schedule was more swiss army knife than swiss watch.

Depart 06.20 arrive Bristol 0910. Leave Bristol 13.30, arrive Listers 15.00 depart 21.00 home 23.30.
