Default What price for this scooby??

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and looking at getting my first subaru.

The one I'm looking at belongs to friend of mine, he's away at the moment so I popped round his house to have a look.

The spec is:

54 plate WRX STI in Blue
83k on the clock
No MOT
Currently sorned
Full subaru history upto 72k

Few bits I found:

Passenger window doesn't work
Tiny patch of rust on the roof
Scuff on the back bumper
No reciepts for work carried out.

Bodywork is pretty mint to be honest other than a scuff and a little patch of rust, started up first time aswell after being stored for 3 months. No knocks or rattles from the engine and no blue smoke at all. Could find any receipts for work carried out but then again it could have been carried out when it was serviced??

What do people think this is worth? I was going to offer him £4k but didn't no if this was taking the mick or not??

Help would be appreciated

Cheers
Trev

I think you're £1500-2000 off if it's nice car.

Impossible to tell without viewing it.

But if half decent, £4k is an insult.

As above, you've got the deal of a century if he accepts £4k for a widetrack STI on 83k miles...

If it is a descent one then even £6k is cheap.

i wouldnt get him to mot it use it as a bargaining point, do an mot check on it your self (obviously you wont be able to do the emissions) but if its stock and got 83k you shouldnt have an issue

Is the rust around the front windscreen? If it is to do it properly you would need windscreen out, so factor in a few hundred pounds for this.

The seller is away and is selling it how I described, without tax and mot etc, found out that the cam belt was fine at 60k, and yes the rust is by the windscreen.

You could book it in for a mot and base your offer on the work required to fix it?

I've heard some rubbish in my time, seriously?

Imagine all those priceless super cars & classics stored away without an MOT.. Wonder if they know their car is only worth £80

What do you think it's worth then?
It was a generalisation from both of you though, I was just making the point it's a ridiculous one. Even if you're saying you were only relating it to his car, it's still a silly thing to say.

James, XLINE is the troll leader of ridiculous statements, he likes to provoke, tis funny, just ignore. I think pretty much every member on here has burned his silly comments s at one point or another in his 300 thread count.
