OCD about squeaks, clunks and rattles...
Hi crew,
Just got a whole bunch done to my 2005 Blob, including Tein lowering springs, new rear shocks and a full service - she is running very well. However this car is very much becoming my pride and joy, and want it perfect of course!
I know it is a ten year old car, but I'd love to "freshen up" things as much as I can, to make it feel as new as it can be on the road. Since the new suspension, she rides well, but firmer and since then I am hearing a few more bumps and rattles - one from the interior trim (something from inside the steering column or behind it - when on coarse roads) but also the odd clunk when the suspension settles to a stop at low speed (only when starting from cold).
Just wondering if anyone thinks replacing all the suspension bushes might help? Not sure if it is a waste of time, as she rides very well at the moment - this is purely to keep things as " feeling new" as possible. Sorry if this sounds nuts!

Honestly, I started out like this - but I can only conclude after hours and hours of effort, that you've bought the wrong car.
These things will squeek, rattle and groan - it's just how they're engineered. Roll the window down a touch, or turn the stereo up - and it's all fixed
Suspension bushes might be due a refresh, but if you get polyurethane stuff - it'll probably make the car rattle more.

Thanks Fonzey, when I fire her up and hear the exhaust burble - I do feel I bought the RIGHT car!
This week it has probably been worse as I had the windows tinted so have not enjoyed the outside sounds (unable to roll windows down for 5 days), so therefore attention has turned to every other sound!
Also due a stereo upgrade, so this might sort things out too...

New shocks, springs, ball joints, rack bushes, droplinks, roll bar bushes cured mine, though it did take two sets of springs eibachs then h&r's and then sheathing to top & bottom front coils to prevent spring chatter over speed bumps before i was finally happy. 06 sti
Speaking personally , I love the sound of my classic and other scoobies. It's one of the things I love about em. True, you can get a bit OCD with the rattles , but I hate my cars smooth n quiet like a jag. Mind you, being 56 , I do feel the bumps . Lol
Mine has had various squeeks & rattles since day 1. Took it back to Subaru to complain and almost had them take the whole dash out to investigate.
As above, if you want a squeek & rattle free car then you have bought the wrong car!
