Does anyone know where I can get a nice set of fitted floor mats preferably in colours to blend in with the interior?
I am also going to order some Osram Night Breaker bulbs as the headlamps on a classic are pretty dire as standard and definitely need better quality bulbs fitted.

Well today it was time for a case of out with the old and in with the new.
I picked up the car this morning, the drive to Leominster was a breeze apart from a right pig of a hailstone shower. After a brief Subways pit stop and a chat with Ryan I drove the S202 back down to Dave @ ESP.
It was a good back to back comparison between the two very different but similar (if that makes sense) cars, what I would say is that the classic gives you a better sense of speed and the newage is far easier to drive faster and requires less effort in doing so.
Which would I choose? Well that choice has been made already but I will say that there isn't a great deal to choose between either car, if I had the money then they would be parked beside each other.

Also a very big thank you to Ian who helped me source the correct steering wheel for the car, I can't remember if I had said so before so I thought I had better do it again.

Classic every time :-p
Although the 202 is very nice in its own special way, it still dosent do anything for me from an aesthetics point of view. As you said on the phone, perfect way to test the pair back to back. Ive no doubt youve made the right choice :-)

Some nice pics there Ty of the both cars together, although I have to side with Rob, that 22B looks the business although I'd be more than happy with either parked in my garage . Loving the look of the B minus the fog light covers

It's easier to drive the newage car faster but it feels more detached from the driver and the road, both great cars like you have said.

I've just won an auction for a set of front bumper indicator lamps on eBay for £28.60, they look like new in the pics.
The only thing to source now is a set of 22B BBS wheel centre caps, now these are proving to be more of a challenge and neither Subaru or BBS have them available any more.
I can easily source a set of genuine BBS centre caps with a carbon/black effect, but they won't quite right for the car so the quest continues.

I didn't even think of that to be honest, if you have any BBS 56mm centre caps with STi on them by any chance?

But I will ring them nonetheless and see what they say.
I also have another two potential sources open to me, I just need to sell a few bits and pieces I have first in order to fund them.

It struck me yesterday that I had forgotten about one major item that needed in my mind to be changed when the car is having it's full service.
This item could give major problems and given the age of the vehicle but despite the really low mileage it would make good sense to change, and that is the engine oil pump.
So a quick phone call to Kath @ Advanced Automotive in Bristol and I have a standard genuine Subaru oil pump on the way, once again they cannot be beaten on price and service.
I did think about putting an uprated oil pump on but it would be a waste of time quite frankly, the car is running standard power and I have no plans to try and push more power out of it anyway.

Well today my new oil pump arrived from Advanced along with 2 new Sigma alarm fobs and replacement OE orange front indicators.
I also popped into Halfrauds on the way home and picked up a new Kenwood Bluetooth CD head unit plus two replacement front speakers, so the first job tomorrow is to fit the head unit, two front door speakers plus the underseat subwoofer.
After that it's just the small matter of the major serivce, should make for a very busy day.

Basically Dave it goes you a much lower and louder bass tone that a 'normal' speaker can do, mine is the same as the link below - you can set the tone to different levels plus control the volume independent of the head unit volume.

It is not just for boom boom music, it can improve any type of music as most in car speakers are pretty flat in bass tone.
If you like listening to music then in my opinion a subwoofer is essential to get the best listening experience.
