Good to see a dealer listening to its customers

Wish my local dealer(wolverhampton) was more like yourselves, I went into my dealers 18 months ago to test a hatch STi out, and discussed finance options etc, told him I had a £10k deposit and the rest would have to be on finance, had a look around the car etc and gave him my details(number, e-mail) as it was getting late(sat afternoon) and he told me that he would give me a ring and i'll pop in again and discuss all the details and finance etc, guess what I never got a phone call or a e-mail so I didnt bother and bought a used hawk sti instead!!

What are the timescales you are looking at? Would it be your own warranty or Subaru backed like Pro-R was?

Thanks scoobyboy1. Not something I can comment on though really, another dealer, especially as I know one of the senior guys at Wolverhampton really well, and have done for many years. I am sure if he knew that someone had not been called back when they were told they would be he would be talking to that staff member about it. I can only say what/how I feel, and my motto has always been to treat people how I would like to be treated as a customer.

It is just the warranty I need the time on, the rest is all in place. It would have to be an independent warranty, as Subaru will not honour warranty on a car modified with un-approved parts, but the warranty I offer would match Subaru's warranty in ALL aspects.

I have done this before, I was one of the first tuners of Volkswagen group cars many years ago that offered a warranty on modified cars that matched the remaining manufacturers warranty on a car, so I know this can be done, I just need costings to put a package together.

That said though, I would guess about 2 weeks before I can have it in place, it is just a lot of time and effort and money to invest, but if it is something people would buy, then I will gladly do the work on it.

Think the Wolverhampton dealer is a Mazda and Ssangyong dealer too, maybe he just forgot as it was Sat afternoon, but i was at home looking on the net a week later and come across the car I got now, so I guess it wasnt to bad, saved me some money, and made the missus happy!!

Yep, they are Mazda and Ssangyong, and they also own Stafford Landrover, and used to own Island Garage in Stafford.

Hold on. For some of the figure being quoted I can buy be and get it forged. I think SS zaust, center decat and remap for £1750 with 350bhp remap is competitive.

Not happy with those Dunlops though. Definitely want some mats thrown in.

Think you owe 73henny a free car but you are ok as he won't take it as it's not faster than what he's got only joking!

Agree with you on that, exhaust and re-map £1750 that has to be and can be achieved, it is the extra 2 years and 40,000 miles warranty that is the problem, especially as it has to match the Subaru UK one.

Not done enough hard-driven miles to comment on tyres, but mats in the grand scheme of what I am looking at aren't something I am going to cry over

Sorry hulkster

Tell you what I'll do to make it up to you, if you have an engine upgrade from me, I'll knock the price you paid for the mats off the bill

Beat me to it. Probably cost you £60 in fuel though!

It's worth it just for the coffee we have while you wait, that's one thing the Italians do really well.
