I love the way he stuffed it in the BM then slagged it; it got five stars in his Times column, the Golf got four from JC! The BM still got a cracking lap time!

Surely that bike stuff will lend them in trouble...?

That's one thing I like about Top Gear, it isn't scared to **** people off.

If the bike stuff don't get aload of complaints then the Christ on a bike will.

I don't care if anyone thinks it's crap, I thought tonight was hilarious with the bike public information films. And the 918 was stunning.

I actually laughed out loud a few times. They're right about the buses, I've been working on regent st for a month or so and not a day goes by where I don't see a bus in the wrong. Can't wait for the p1 v 918 v la ferrari showdown. I assume there will be one, maybe last episode of the series.

Pay attention Clarkson said it's gonna be filmed as a special to be released around June time.

Pretty good show last night, even the SITRPC was interesting and a pretty tidy driver too!

I knew Clarkson would have a dig a Piers Morgan and why not as the man's a complete **** and the sad thing is after his show has been cancelled he will no doubt come back here!

I thought that Porsche 918 was pretty awesome! All cars should have exhausts like that!!! OK it might ruin the paint work a bit, but who cares!!

I thought they were going to review the A45 AMG, rather than just say it too expensive.

JC reviews all three properly in his Sunday Times column (driving.co.uk I think).
M135i gets five stars, the other two get four ;-)

Yep; dismissed it simply on price. The price mentioned was for a heavily optioned up model!

Oh and many have had cheaper insurance quotes for the BM than the Golf!

I enjoyed it on catch up - makes it a 30 min show when you forward through the star in a car bit and the silly cycling thing.

I really like the look of the new GTI, and the Porsche wasn't bad either!

Cycling thing was pretty funny and I'm one of the self righteous

Star in the car wasn't that bad, at least he had an interest in driving unlike that tw@t Whitehall last week.

That moment where the flames came out of those top mounted exhausts was awesome. I felt like a kid again seeing a Lamborghini Countach for the first time.

What else that struck me was how calm JC was during the spin.

One wonders if he wrote the newspaper review before he spun it out on the track.

Was there any explanation given as to why it spun so violently?

Try full throttle at 120 over water in any car. A bit of investigation reveals that incident was made in at least three takes.

Pure theatre.

Don't mistake calmness for sheer pant staining terror!

To be fair, as Matteboy says, 120 on a surface like that would spin any car, the golf didn't spin as it most likely didn't reach that speed after seeing the Beemer spin off. I'm amazed that the wheels didn't dig in to the soil and flip the car.
