I'm amazed that the wheels didn't dig in to the soil and flip the car.
Me too, regardless of the set - up you couldn't pay me enough to go screaming off a wet runway sideways at that speed without a nomex suit, helmet and roll cage (and waterproof undercrackers). He was incredibly lucky not to cartwheel that car - airfields are dreadful places for obstructions, rabbit holes and very uneven ground once you get off the concrete.
Maybe the M135i will gain cult status for being the car that nearly killed Clarkson?! Or maybe not!
Took my Dad out for a blast in ours on Sunday; a few sections of road near here resemble a racetrack (good vis, decent run off on tight bends, long straights£ and gave it full beans using the paddles; had the back end waggling a bit and a huge grin. Clearly I'm horribly biased but the car really is EPIC!!

Dunsfold is pretty flat and although I've not explored the grass at quite the velocity Clarkson managed I can't remember it being any worse than spinning anywhere else

Fair play, I guess I've just had too many twisted ankles and bumpy rides in Defenders at other airfields when in the University Air Squadron / doing my ppl.
Watch out for the political/ environmental message
You meant the most pointless show of the series, I think. Even if you meant that of the serious, any show with some point has to be somewhat serious. Even a nonsense comedy show has to be serious with its aim to make people laugh at its absurd nature. Was TG completely and utterly crap this time?
I thought most men love Top gear as it turns them on like a chimp on heat. Trendy cars are a turn on to them, so are the sarcasm of Clarkson and the clowning of his two sidekicks. How easy pleased.
Quite enjoyed it,couldn't believe that main highway at rush hour.flip if only our roads were like that, and you'd still get drivers hogging the middle lane(lane 10)
Top gear is utter ****e, I only watch it now if I know there is a decent car on. The rest is staged and quite embarrassing to watch.
Talk about stating the bleeding obvious! Of course it's staged, doesn't take 2 brain cells to rub together to work that one out, it's an entertainment show, nothing more, nothing less. If you're expecting a consumer show, watch Watchdog or something! Still there are others who have spent years moaning how cr@p it is but still feel compelled to watch it, but we all know these same people suffer from a self-defeating personality disorder.
