Indeed, was wondering the same myself.

Then, what exhaust is on your car, and what bike do you own.

Not defending him or anything by the way

No worries, I wasn't moralising really, as you say we all do things on the spur of the moment, just would be awful to get banged up because of some lowlife like that!

I had all this when I lived at my old house.low life smack head up all night banging and making as much noise as he could.rats running around in all the rubbish he had collected in his garden and that's not the half of it.there is only one way to sort people out like this as you wont get any help from the police as I didn't.you just need to be carefull how you do it,but even then you wont win against scum bags cos the law loves em.you could guarantee that everytime I went round the cops would be nocking on my door within 5 mins.but everytime I rang them for some strange reason there was no police available.

Why was my post deleted? It was a genuine question and I wasn't pointing any fingers or accusing anyone - that information is free for anyone to view on the public domain...

Could have at least had the intestinal fortitude to pm me and explain the reasoning for removing it as I see none to be honest.

LuckyWelshChap pointed out it could get SN in hot water, unlikely I know, but to be fair to the admins you can't be too careful these days!

Going to detract from the thread (sorry op, but it seems that moderation caused it) but who is moderating moderation?

Surely when a post is deemed to merit 'moderation' the poster should at least be afforded the courtesy of:
  1. being informed of the moderation;
  2. being told of the reason for moderation.
If no-one knows, no-one learns.

You're are newbie, relatively speaking. This is just how Scoobynet is run.
I like it. Issues are dealt with in a swift and effective manner.

It's all well and good telling someone to kick seven shades out of some ****, but speaking as someone who has done it (more than once) I can tell you it's really not worth the hassle that comes with it, going to court being charged with GBH is not a very nice feeling for a decent law abiding person and the only reason I got off was there was only one of me and a few of them along with witnesses to back me up that they started it and it was basically a racist attack.

Also waiting for someone to come out of a coma thinking that you could be up for murder is not nice either and it was touch and go for a while, all I did was defend myself but I was a little bit too good at it.

I also dropped another **** a few years later who ended up in hospital then spent the next 6 months waiting for a knock at the door, the first incident has stopped me getting jobs ( apparently I'M a violent person because I can defend myself) and to this day I have to explain it every so often to officials of one description or another around the world and it was about 25yrs ago.

My advice is don't do anything stupid on the spur of the moment because YOU will be the one that suffers in the long run, it's really not worth it and that's coming from a self defence situation on both occasions.

The older I get the more I understand just how well Karma takes care of things like this.

I see your point, and yes, it has its advantages.

I'm a member of another forum and there the mod does notify people.
I'm not saying one way or the other is right or wrong and in fairness with a forum this large mods could spend half their time pm-ing people .

I suppose it's because of my previous experience I thought this way wasn't right.

But as you say this is how it's run.
I presume that anyone unhappy could pm a mod and find out.

To clarify, as you can see from Post #1; specific personal information was removed as well as subsequent references to that person.

Posting defamatory comments and personal details could easily land SN or it's members in trouble under certain circumstances.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to contact users to explain every act of moderation, but most will be pretty self explanatory.

Come home drunk and key my impreza front to back i saw him do it cslled police he got arrested snd release no charge as its my word aginst his! ****ing fuming. So taking tge scum bag to small claims court.
I'm in the same boat, my neighbour hasn't worked for 14 years and has 2 V8 4x4's 2 garages and a 3 bedroomed house all payed for by you and me.

He threatened me once because I told him not to sweep leaves in front of my garage, the Police came to see him and they swiftly came back saying they had to verbally warn me as he said I'd threatened him! A 13yo was raped in our pitch black back yard so we got a 20watt light to provide a bit of security, especially as the rapist was getting funny with my partner, the portly neighbour asked us to take it down as his rotund wife couldn't sleep in the kitchen. I took it down no questions asked and the next day a letter came from the council demanding we remove it due to light pollution!!!!!! Proper TAF.

in no way am I standing up for the guy who keyed your car as that was a stupid thing to do .........
the only thing you need to remember is that unless you or him move you will still be neighbours and this could result in a lot more hassle or annoying behaviour and you having to worry if you car is safe when you leave it etc or even your house.

Take some pictures and email them back saying (and showing) that they are incorrect.

Inform them of security issues - quote the police log number - and stating that you have concerns about the property becoming the target of vandalism and therefore it is in their client's interest for you to be installing additional security apparatus.

If you get asked to remove it point out that under the law you are entitled to install any equipment for the purposes of a) preventing; and/or b) helping in the detection of, crime.

Btw I presume you're aware that you cannot divulge any details of CCTV footage to anyone apart from an authorised person. Even if you see your best friend's missus with someone else you can't say anything otherwise you're in breach of the Data Protection Act and privacy laws.
