You need to understand what you are selling, a low mileage, near standard classic. Nothing more.
Have you have any serious offers?
I was looking for an Impreza back in august and wanted either something similar to yours or a newage. One guy was advertising a low mileage (55k I think) classic for £4k. When I spoke to him on the phone, one of the first things he said was that he would not take a penny less. Ok I said, so continued to ask questions. I couldn't believe what work needed doing and that was without viewing the car.
-Tyres were all new but cheap brands and even the buyer said they needed changing.
-Brakes all round were low
-front end was stone chipped
-engine had an oil leak (probably rocket cover gaskets but he didn't know that)
-big cambelt service was due as well as tax and mot.
All this an he wouldn't budge on the price.
He seemed genuinely surprised that I was not interested at that price considering the £4 classic would quickly become a £6k classic.
I went and found a 2005 newage blob with 57k on the clock that just needed a little tlc, nothing major like the classic. All for £4750.

Yes I've had two good offers that I have considered, and as per the original post which states "ONO" (or nearest offer) after the price, all offers will be considered carefully.
Someone is going to get a very nice, low mileage unmolested classic scooby with desirable prodrive upgrades.
The car has recent discs, cambelt and clutch so requires no further financial outlay after purchase.

Agreed but usually 3-4k. I'm not saying you won't find a buyer who wants to spend £5k on a classic but my guess is that you will probably have long wait. And as said, if the front end has stone chips or the if the arches are showing any sign of rust then you can forget £5k.

X reg Impreza Turbo 2000 55K Miles
Now the one here is the WR Prodrive Edition so providing the condition checks out for the right buyer I reckon he could get near his asking price, but to be honest it will all be down to the condition.

that mica red one was lovely. i had one myself few years back, one owner, standard, similar miles i ended up throwing money at it and getting it to 305bhp then selling it for a massive loss. big regret not leaving it alone and keeping it. was immaculate.
id like to wager the op will be making a price drop in the not too distant future. also i havent seen it for sale on pistonheads/autotrader etc. if i was seriously trying to sell my car i wouldnt just have it on a forum. strange.

The car is now SOLD!
Thanks to everyone who left positive comments.
The car has been bought by my sister who knows how much time and money went into keeping it in this condition
and didn't want to see it leave the family.
If she ever wants to sell it I will get her to put it up here.
Regarding the auto trader/piston heads comment- I wanted the car to go to a scooby enthusiast or someone I know as I know its a good 'un.
Best Wishes and Merry Christmas to you all,
Simon

You weren't LOL'ing after you saw the pictures that you thought would never arrive of a beautiful classic in very good condition. You seemed to go very quiet at that point for a few days....... ;-)

On the contrary Gear Head- I sent my sister the link to the advert on here and as a result of it and seeing the history of the car lined up in pictures she decided to buy it.
Which part of the advert was incomplete? Are you still talking about the fact i posted the advert before i had taken the pictures, because i think the advert was extremely complete.

I would suggest posting up a fresh advert and starting over again as this one has on and off topic and all sorts
I have to admit that looks a real good honest example you have got there and definitely commands the higher price tag so hold out for the price

Mr Hat,
Is your hat covered in tin foil?
I'm sure this isn't the first time you've seen a car go up for sale that has prompted a friend or one of the family to buy the car knowing how well its been cared for?

I joined the forum to advertise my car to the Subaru community. As i have said before i have two jobs and cars isn't my only hobby.I am a scooby fan but it doesn't take up much of my time, its just the car i drive as can be seen by the fact that in 13 years i never modded my car.

Thanks for all these posts.I hope you are proud of your conduct on this thead.
with reference to the wheels, they are not the st2's as your ad stated, you posted a picture of the brochure stating this is exactly what your car looks like, hence why i said you have the wrong alloys, the less desirable alloys IMO. cant wait to see some pics in daylight if you ever get round to actually washing it.
