I understand it can difficult, having to wake up every morning, work hard, take orders, meet deadlines, work under pressure, make difficult decisions. Now then, I've got to go and do some more homework with the kids. I need to make sure they grow up as effective and high earning rent seekers, not some sort of spineless drop outs who just talk sh7te all day long
God you are a rotten person. Hope it works out great for you with your kids.

Not wanting to appear vindictive but that made me laugh out loud. Tony if you put as much energy in to bettering your own situation as you do attacking the social structure you'd achieve something. You're portraying yourself as the archetypal downtrodden vassal.

I don't think Tony is such a laid back guy, far from it. But if Tony attacks social structure, is it really necessary to attack his 'supposed' downtrodden existence with crap job, one bed flat in Liverpool, his Sociology degree and his mental health issue disclosure? Even if you're giving him the taste of his own medicine, remember it makes you look like a bunch of losers when you start chucking bucketful of personal insults to him. Grow up and smell the coffee! Can't you lot argue point to point with the guy? Christ it's like a school playground here with this garbage!

Now call me names as well, if you like. I don't give the damned.

i may be wrong here, but i think the point tony was trying to make is this, btl landlords who buy just to rent to the benefits brigade at well inflate rents, are no better than the career benefits scroungers themselves, just parasites with more money or should i say more debts ie large motgages

Swati,

Do you not think he's his own worst enemy?

Chip, so are the people who can't help their urge to react towards him with personal insults, and cross-question him to count his achievements on his finger tips.

If it's so well-guessed that he's such an under-achiever hence his negative views on things, why get down to the childish level to rip him apart with personal attacks on him?? What's achieved by that ?? If he's such a destitute, I wonder what's wrong with those people wanting such ego satisfaction like some juvenile in a school playground, eh? Pathetic.

I treat people as they treat me. I speak to people as they speak to me, it's quite simple. I have no need to rise up, set an example, be the bigger man etc, not on an internet forum anyway.

Over the years TDW has had no problem insulting, and I mean really insulting, people on the basis of their race, religion, profession and more.

On that basis he makes himself a fair target, he will encourage people to 'attack' him because he attacks others.

Nobody is saying he isn't allowed to express his views on the world just like anybody else, but if they involve insulting people then he must expect the same back. He is more than happy to dish it out but then cries that he is being bullied when he gets a bit back. I'm sorry but the world just doesn't work like that.

I'm struggling to understand why Swati feels the need to jump to Joe's defence. It's banter and if you dish it out you must be prepared to take it.

Because TDW is very manipulative and at some point in a discussion will portray himself as an innocent bullied victim. Then Swati's maternal protective instinct comes out!

The line between banter and nastiness is a fine one and a subjective one, I suspect she feels this thread has strayed into the latter and she maybe right.

The trouble with this thread is it all started because of a programme desigend deliberately to manipulate the viewer as regards a view of people on benefits in much the same way the government like to do... and everything else in this thread stems from that manipulation!

I know a few BTL landlords and none of them have worked for very long as they brought places as soon as they could and then put there "mates" who are on benefits in them so the goverment now pays the landlords wages via them so they have no need to work !

Good on them .....
I've just done 2 properties for a 'friend' , both are now 'let'
1 to a deadbeat doley , the other to a disabled chap.....goverment paying the rents....
I don't understand the problem tbh
Yes the owner will of had his money back within 7 years....but I very much doubt the tenants will be around within a year (most have normally screwed every type of credit available and done one within 12 months)
By the time they leave........happy days again for me as the houses will be wrecked

And TDW....you really do cause the problems you have on here , you really do come across as a jealous person , you get out of life what you put in.

Jealous lol yeah , I own my own properties but let my family live in them for free as they are hard working and the goverment/council won't help them in any way due to a housing shortage due to people buying houses and renting them out to the low life's that are on the doll ,,,, iv done very well in this life so far thank you without needing to rely on tax money paying my wages ,, and that's what the doll rent is tax money from hard working people ,, so when there isn't any low cost housing they are forced to pay the private cost for them increasing the strain on the tax payer in the long run

What is doll rent? Is it what you pay to hire one of these?

The way the landlords on here have been demonised, like some modern day Peter Rachman in various threads not just this one, is ridiculous.

It makes a change from a multi thread demonising Muslims.

Now, who's going to start a thread on benefit-claiming Muslim landlords?

Yup.

'Landlords' are a very heterogeneous group, many are accidental landlords. I know people who have become landlords for a period of time because they've gone abroad for a few years to work or study, I know somebody who rented out her own house and moved back with her parents after her husband suddenly died (aged 38)

I know people who have moved back in with mum and dad and rented out their own place when they've lost their job or got divorced.

The list goes on.

To label them all as parasites, thieves and no better than slave traders and benefit cheats is just frankly ridiculous and the ramblings of a nut job.

You did quote me so I assumed you were on about me , apologies if it wasn't directed at me as its my fault for assuming and not reading things right ,,,, iv got what iv got as iv worked hard from day one and it pisses me off when others take advantage of our benefit system ,,wish I was a millionaire as I'd have even more scoobs lol
Agree to disagree on this one I think

Much better than keeping my money in a bank... also, mine is managed through a letting agency and we specific no DSS, therefore all my tenants have been in jobs

Exactly, I know a couple who had a house each before they got together and then rented one out and moved into the other. Good for them I would say although some on here would vilify them.
