I was thinking the same, my local is pretty much like that. I've even had a decent meal in Wetherspoons, of course their food could be made better by the fact it usually comes with a pint. I've eaten in a couple of other chains recently and they have been really poor, it sounded good on the menu, but was really badly cooked.

If any of you go to Castle Combe, the Jolly Huntsman just down the road in Kington St Michael is good.

..well i did give it a try on Saturday!

Very good food (i had the Black Magic - bangers and mash) and excellent service. Only downside was the VERY loud music playing in the bar area - luckily it was all quiet in the conservatory.

Yup - deffo worth a visit

Marlow is full of good places to eat, think it has 2 michelin star restaruants and about 3 other places with 2 rosettes or more, I ate in some tiny little place called the vanilla pod a few month ago and it was brilliant.
