Dirty bast ards

tony de wonderful 22 September 2013 12:19 PM

Could have been salted cod?

cookstar 22 September 2013 12:27 PM

Pollocks.

RA Dunk 22 September 2013 12:38 PM

False advertising, your paying over the odds for cod and getting cheap sh1t in return.

pimmo2000 22 September 2013 12:52 PM

Pubs are getting worse for it .. only a few good ones left, my favorite being 220 miles from me :) .. going on 3rd Oct, can't wait :)

Busterbulldog 22 September 2013 12:58 PM

Its very hard getting decent food on a regular basis anywhere around here nowadays.2 weeks back I went to a cafe in my village,on the wall he has a 4 star rating from CCBC...it looks photocopied...on the CCBC website it scores a 1,just like his other eating emporium. The sausages were really nasty

alcazar 22 September 2013 01:10 PM

Cod?????????

Who eats cod?????????

Dirty bottom-feeding fish, you are eating dead sailors.

Stick to haddock.

Busterbulldog 22 September 2013 01:12 PM

For example, our recently build pub,its struggled with a 1 rating since opening...its recently gone up to a 2...basically theyve stopped kicking the food around the floor? How can a new purpose place be this bad?

http://www.otterpub.co.uk/

http://ratings.food.gov.uk/authority...555/%5E/1/5/10

the cafes also on the list lol...missing 3 of its advertised stars

Boro 22 September 2013 01:27 PM

Pub food round here is 2nd to none. I could name 4 or 5 on the doorstep that I would happily eat at. Maybe is a geographic thing?

*matthewturb2000* 22 September 2013 02:02 PM

yea cambridge pub grub is nice, even the weatherspoons is edible

Chip 22 September 2013 02:08 PM

My local serves excellent food.

Turbohot 22 September 2013 03:07 PM

Not a fan of pub food here.

Some pubs this end announce their meals as "prepared from fresh". Those pubs are ok to eat in. We actually have a café in our nearby town that even makes its own sauces including ketchup and brown sauce for their Full English. I think that's the way it should be. Most pubs are freezer to fryer, and the thought of it is a bit on a downer, really.

Nelson???? I think that's your problem right there :D

Don't know if you travel as far afield as Rawtenstall/Edenfield, but The Whitchaff is very good and the Fisherman's Retreat in Edenfield is excellent.

neil-h 22 September 2013 05:38 PM

hodgy0_2 22 September 2013 06:21 PM

Our local pub does amazing food

The only downside is a familly pub lunch is over £200

(It is very good food and I do have a large family)

mrmadcap 22 September 2013 06:46 PM

Was in a pub the other day at the bar ordering my drink and a mumsie with an attitude interrupted and said to the barman, "excuse me, but where are the baby changing facilities"?

Now call me old fashioned but to me pubs used to be an adult environment where you could relax with a drink away from this kiddiesville crap.

Although I have never smoked in my life I would give anything to go back to the days of the old smokey British pub atmosphere.

DYK 22 September 2013 08:19 PM

stuart2008sti 22 September 2013 09:19 PM

RobsyUK 22 September 2013 09:37 PM

I hate sticky tables! And the stickyness isn't normally dirt but that pink crap they spray on but NEVER rinse off.
