I had Iphone's from the beginning and nobody could sway me to try something else. They were the best out there in my mind and that was that.

However, earlier this year I had to renew my contract. First thought was iphone 5 ofcourse but when I called 3 about it they mentioned a samsung galaxy note 2. At first I dismissed it but said I'd think about it and get back to them. After a couple of days I rang and said what the hell, lets give this note thing a go and see what happens. The guy on the phone said if I wasn't happy I could send it back within 14 days and get an iphone5.
Well, 8 months on I've still got the note2 and am so happy I made the switch. Fantastic phone and I can't ever see me going back to apple.

People sort of get hypnotised into thinking apple is the all conquering most amazing brand out there, well it aint but the marketing is which is why so many get drawn in.

Well I've been to meadowhall to sort my 5 and it was a utter waste of time...
Because only 10% of my calls are not getting through I have just got to reset/restore phone....I said to the gimp 10% could =a fair crack of lost earnings as I'm self employed
Not interested at all in the shop way to many people stood around with problems

*****
I will give it another 2 weeks and if it's the same they will be replacing it as I bought it sim free

Btw.....I'm not a apple hater just don't get on with the store gimps

I had my iphone 4 replaced 3 times under warranty but when it failed for the 4th time I was a month past the warranty expiry date, even though id only actually had that particular phone a few months as it was a replacement.

Tbh having no experienced the darkside, it's quite interesting over there. At the moment i'm quite a big Apple user. That being said how ever a mate of mine has just bought a nexus 7 tablet and its very good for the money and the standard operating system is actually pretty reasonable. Combine that with the Play Store which is looking pretty reasonable and Android makes a tempting prospect.

Is Android a brand though?

I thought it was an open source operating system targeted towards small touchscreen devices (i.e. phones and tablets). The fact that the likes of Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. have decided to use it on their devices is there choice not Google's.

If this poll is about brands it should be Apple vs. Samsung vs. HTC vs. Sony vs. every other smart phone manufacturer that uses Android.

For what it's worth I've never owned an iPhone, always seemed to expensive to me. Had two Android based phones now (Galaxy S2 & S4) and I've been very pleased with them. Had a Windows Mobile based device prior to the (HTC Touch HD) and that does look sh*te compared to what we have now

My family has a combo of HTC, Nexus, Samsung and apple devices. Tomorrow will see me order a Note3 and S4, saying that, having just upgraded my One X to Sense 5, it has some nice new features, also addon s being rooted, so may delay my Note order

bit hard to compare android o/s to a phone ...

I don't really care, its a phone.. so long as I have the ability to make a call and receive one then im happy.
I did look at the Ifone, samsung, nokia and htc I chose the Samsung as it did what I wanted it to do.
i'm not a huge fan of iTunes, used it 5 times and hated the experience.

I bought one song off them and will never ever do it again.

The DRM is a ridiculous inconvenience.
