Well I'm booked in at meadowhall tomorrow morning to take a second 5 back....first one wouldn't hold a charge , now I have one that freezes up, drops Internet and rings when it feels like it

iPhone are good for those that don't want to change things and once set up correctly generally seem to be ok to use, but yesterdays technology at tomorrow's prices does come to my mind.
So Android for me

I like the iPhone predominantly because I'm comfortable with it. Saying that the '5' does appear to be fraught with problems and the 5s is rumoured to be bargain basement so i'm seriously considering android

I have been a long time iphone user.
3,4 and 4 s.
Last week I upgraded to a 5.
Three days later after it froze and crashed I got my second five, that one had no signal, I exchanged it for a htc one,
I'm getting used to android,
While the phone is faster, camera is better, the iOS is what makes the apple, the touch recognition is miles better on the apple devices, the apps seem to be better, I can't get nav free to save to android,
I like both but build quality at apple seems ****e, the mrs is on her third iphone 4 in 8 moths

They both have pretty much the same functionality these days. I prefer iPhones as they are easier for my wife and children to use. We also use iMessage and FaceTime extensively, but could equally use WhatsApp or Viber...

I use Apple as it's what I started with and it work fine, so there's no 'need' to change. Although I have tried Android with a company Samsung Galaxy (not S or S2 etc) and it was a slow, constantly crashing piece of junk. Maybe that soured my Android experience, but Apple for me.

Wouldn't bother me having either one,but one reason I went with an android phone was the monthly cost just to have a new iPhone, compared to a new android phone on the same tariff..

Android does bit everything for a reasonable price
I like the windows phones, but like apple, you can't do a bit of everything, although the prices are reasonable
So android it is

It's simple, if you want a corporate giant to dictate the model you buy, the price you pay, the accessories you buy and the cost and means of storing your data, then buy an IPhone.
I like to have some choice in the above matters so I've been an android user since they first launched.

The day that Apple lost the plot, and outed all it's followers as thoughtless sheep was the day that the released the model 4 to the market and let the mainstream public do their beta testing at full price, releasing a product ahead of time with known flaws is naughty by any stretch of the imagination.

Times have changed, Android has gone from a hobby to a serious business, the Apple Fanboi has been replaced by the Fandroid, and they're rampant.
Pretty much all of the 'features' that Android users have berated Apple users for are now OK because... Android. Your devices are tied to providers, your apps are forced upon you, your phones are abandoned shortly after release and replaced by another with bigger numbers, but that's OK because they're free.
Enjoy your device and thank Steve for making it happen.

I've had an original iPhone then a 3GS, when that needed upgrading i did think about the 4S but by that time IOS was beginning to annoy me so i made the jump to android.
I'm not going to say its OMG AMAZING and IOS is rubbish, on the whole i prefer android but IOS does do some things better, its easier to use out of the box for example where you need to fiddle with Android to make it what you want.
But for me when you consider a top quality Android handset is £200 where the IOS version is what £400+

As much belief in my opening Gambit I would suggest as yours with the use of the equivalent derogatory terms Fandroid and Fanboi.
Horses for course, the primary difference is that Android users don't have to buy all the other products in the set to get the user experience (Apple ties it users into the monopoly, albeit they smile so sweetly in applestore when they rape you).
Personally, regardless of all else, the only two reasons I have for not getting Apple product is the cost of the apps and the fragility of the product hardware.

We were in apple shop yesterday, to ask how you would send photos from an ipad to us, because someone is supposed to be...
The guy definitely had a certain attitude, presumably had it drilled into him from above

Yeah, because Google are a family business and Samsung - by far the most common device - are mates working from a garage.

My iPad even jailbroken is locked down, my S4 is completely customised, worked on any network, masses of apps of my choosing .. and took me 30 minutes to sort out.

Always had iPhones, then changed to a nexus 4, that didn't like water so I'm borrowing an iPhone 4, have to say I much prefer the android phone and as soon as the waterproof Sony Experia z1 comes out I'll be getting one
