When you try and reserve one online it may be a different story. Another local argos to me was showing in stock but when I tried to reserve for collection it wouldn't do it.

Couple of odd bods in there for the XBO on start-up.

 

I've tried searching today on the Argos website and they aren't showing any stock, I think the only way is to be lucky like you were and just stumble into a store with stock.

I really want to be playing Forza 5 but I suspect it'll be the new year now before they are easily available on the high street.

 

Odd bods? The Xbox One seems to load games slightly quicker than the PS4.

The site is changing by the hour though - my local store was saying no stock but the next store along did have stock. Now the one with stock is out of stock and my local store has stock in 4 days time according to argos.

I think I will wait and see what happens at ASDA tomorrow first.

Tesco allowing walk in customers for PS4 in 150 stores.

 

Well last night I was reading a lot on the Internet about the Xbone and PS4 from the big websites, and my overall impression is that if you want a console purely for gaming/just to play games, then get the PS4 (even though the initial lineup of games isn't great). If you want a console to play games and also to be more of a media hub/forward thinking console for the future, get the Xbone.

Pretty sure I'll be getting the Xbone after Xmas in the Jan sales.

 

I phoned them yesterday as I knew about both stores (Asda & tesco) suppose to be selling PS4 consoles,my advice and this is coming straight from the horses mouth each store will only be getting a few consoles each the max being around 20 so If you want a guaranteed PS4 hang about and get there as early as possible.SJ.

 

Had a play with mine last night, nice to see no drive issues or lock up when downloading updates. First impressions.........a very slick machine and as mentioned its basically silent!

My wife went straight on and downloaded the fitness program because at a size 10 she thinks she's fat! The two boys thought it was funny using voice control to keep trying to turn it off whilst I was playing ghosts then snuck out and had a game when I went to bed.

All in all, very impressed especially as at the start of this thread I said I was going to retire from gaming and hang up my controller.....

 

Moving on from my Supposed to be PS4 receipt at Game I got a message yesterday from my Good friend who is searching mad for a console for his young son who is playstation mad,but has been out of luck pre ordering one in time,he does nights on the Buses and he did not manage to get a reserve PS4,so like a Good friend I told him to come around my house today so he could have my receipt for day one collection of the PS4 as I was buying it for myself and did not really mind waiting to the new year,when he came around my house he was literally in tears of joy as he promised his son and he knows what it would mean to him to have it.But the story does not stop there.My wife left for work early as usual but then I started to get pictures sent to my phone.I could not work them out but then I did,when my wife found out what I had done for my friend,she decided to make sure I definitely got one with all the trimmings at the PS4 official launch.Wife I love you,your the best..

Right, I'd reserved two things this morning. Wife was in town shopping anyway. The Xbox One from Argos and a toy for the boy from Toys R Us.
Misses had parked in the argos carpark to go shopping. Text her saying I'd reserved one, then that someone had called to tell me it was an error. So off she drives to Toys R Us... only to be told by the woman there that she'd phoned a man to tell him it wasn't available....
Wifey refuses to drive back in to town and pay to park to get the XBO slight contrast to Stonejedi's wifes attitude

 

I have an Xbox One on the way from the Argos Direct Outlet on Ebay, £429.99 plus £3.99 delivery - there were around 20 for sale when I started the checkout process and one left when I had finished it.

I will pop into Tesco at lunchtime to get Forza 5.

 

She deserves a medal, fair play to the lady.
