Neanderthal,
It takes a few seconds, yes.
That's what I've come to expect from MS tbh, and is what gives me some element of confidence, that they'll do the right thing.
Jayallen,

Cannon Fodder,
I'll be getting the PS4 this Friday, so will be able to give some form of early insight.
The "technically the PS4 is better" is a tad subjective so far, regardless of what the gimps, I mean geeks, are saying. The XBO architecture uses a different model for the GPU, and it's too early to tell if that model is technically "better" or weaker than the PS4. Ultimately though it's a moot point..... it's all about the games. At the moment for me, the XBO is stronger based on the current launch games.
When you're playing COD and BF4, it makes no difference if it's 720p, 900p or 1080p. I'm too absorbed in the gameplay to notice if a soldiers pubic hair is more defined.
Just been playing BF4 on the PC and I'm sweating my **** off, worrying about double tapping the slimey *****..... not looking at graphic fidelity.
The PS4 is being touted as the true gamers machine....... I think they said that last time, so they have a lot to prove this time round.
I doubt we'll say any form of direction on that question for at least 12 months imo.

Can anyone advise what I can expect in terms of queues for midnight collections? Is it best to arrive an hour before or so? Maybe a bit more?
I have never bought a console on launch night before but I did not pre order this time round and given it looks like most stores wont have any stock now till early January I wonder if its a good idea to go and get one now.

Should you be wanting to make some money, put your 24 hour Ebay auction to start now, you'll likely have cash in your hand by lunchtime tomorrow
It'll be interesting to hear what owners of both consoles think of them in comparison, I'll get an XBO in the new year no doubt of that but I can't help but wonder which is the better overall choice?
I know technically the PS4 is the better machine but which will be the better gamers machine?

Who ever has the best and most selection of exclusive AAA titles and a perfect online base will win this next Gen battle, but definitely on paper the PS4 is going to be bossing it when it comes out from this Friday, but since having my own XBOX ONE I personally think this is going to be the tightest console battle yet.SJ.
Plus of course it would seem that Microsoft are very good at securing exclusive titles or earlier releases as well.
I personally will be getting an XBO in the new year just to play some of the games in the pipeline for that, I may even use it as a media hub of sorts in the living room and connect it to my Sky HD and ditch my Blu Ray player.

).The reason I say technically better is due to mainly the RAM used as all the other components seem pretty much well matched.
The other reason I mentioned it was technically better was as the PS3 was supposed to be more powerful than the XBox 360. This rarely translated to the actual games itself where if anything the 360 seemed to have the better games where both consoles had versions of the same game.
Having the better technical capability doesn't seem to translate well into the actual gameplay is what I am getting at, I just hope on this occasion that the reality matches the hype.
But I think whichever console is bought that the owner should be happy with their choice, as the differences would appear to be within a gnat's whisker.
Just thought i would post up some helpful information for those of us who did not preorder a PS4 :Get in Asda

I think I will just go to my local one at about 11 ish, and see what its like. I guess most people would pre-order via Game or maybe Tesco but not Asda perhaps? So maybe not much of a queue? If its out the door I will prob just leave it as I am not that desperate for one - not turned my 360 on in 6 months!

IMO getting a console at 12 is pure grief. Queue pushers. Wannabe gangsters.running out of stock. Being robbed. There was a riot at asda in Huddersfield when one of the cod's came out.

What matters is how technical potential translates into tangible improvement!

I bought my Xbone from Sainsburys on release day without a preorder and I would bet the house that I could pick up a ps4 this Friday from Sainsburys without a preorder too. The store isn't a 24 Hr so there isn't a line of people waiting at 12am as sainsburys don't do midnight release, they open at 7am and I'm pretty sure all Sainsburys stores are the same.
Surely that is because they aren't released yet? Once they are and the non preorder stock disappears then prices will go up. If not then Sony have pulled their finger out and produced a lot more stock.
I walked into Argo this morning and picked up an Xbone, i lucky, 3 had just arrived on a delivery...
: I asked to buy all 3 but they would only sell me one!
Everywhere else was telling me no more stock until after Xmas..

I'm starting to think its all a Big Con now as you can still get a PS4 on launch day if your prepared to pay over £600 from GAME http://www.game.co.uk/en/hardware/pl...ost-_-consolesTalk about trying to get every penny you can get from the consumer.SJ.

The guy in my local argos told me that they have all their pre order PS4's but will also have some to sell from stock....I'm wondering if it's worth snapping a couple up..
According to stockinformer, Argos are running a very strict first-come-first-served one-per-customer policy.

Interesting video about load time on the PS4 (they appear to be worse than the XBO):

Edit: I'll take that back based on what has been posted above.
