No fear Simon, any 911 I do eventually get is way off into the future.
I could have seen use from a boat that's for sure this year to date, it's getting towards the finish line now.
How is your beast coming along? Have you hit the magic 1000BHP yet?

They put down and deliver their power so well that unless you want to go racing Veyrons there is not much point having too much more power, so they say anyway.

If all goes well this should be done in April.

Don't panic lads! The Porker is not going up for sale for a while yet so I can't sell it to Ty............I'd like your S202 though
The 22B is going as I hate the thing, horrible drive~hard ride~noisy~crap music etc
Shame really as I did intend to keep it for several years!
Saying that, it's probably just me feeling ill again lately so it's just not for me at the moment. It's going to Germany and my *** will be firmly planted in the 996 for a few weeks at least
Do come and have a drive though as you'll be seriously impressed Ty, it's going in for a major service next week then a 4WD set up and then she'll be ready for you to try!

I suppose it's like they say never meet your hero as you might be in for a disappointment.

You never know Dave, I might just take you up on a test drive, I will bring the S202 along and you can see what you think of her.
Shame the 22B is going as that is probably the one classic that I would change the S202 for, I might have been up for a deal on that one but if it's going then that's a real shame.

Many many moons ago....
I was offered the keys to a Escort RS Turbo, I took them and went for a spin, I hadn't even got 10 yards and put a piston through the block!!! Not my finest hour for sure!
But...it didn't help having the cheapest mod to more power back in the day.....A bleed valve!!!! Cheap and nasty!
If I'm ever offered keys to a car I politely decline....most of the time

I got given the keys to Dave from ESP's R34GTR which I absolutely loved, the trouble is that everything else since that drive hasn't measured up to it if I'm being honest.

I only hope if I get to drive the 911 Turbo lives up to my extremely high expectations of how it should drive and feel behind the wheel.

Today I have been up to Leominster after work, due to there being at least 6 different shades or variant of the Subaru WR Blue, and not being able to get a perfect match today it was a case of carrying on with some of the other work.
So the most daunting and potentially problematic job was tackled and that was to swop out the standard downpipe/cat with the centre section for the Prodrive sports cat along with the Scorpion deresontated centre section.
As my skills were better utilised making the coffee on the whole I left Ryan to get on with it, although I did manage to take the skin off a few knuckles trying to wrestle the old centre section off the rubber hangers.
As you can see below the two downpipes are totally different at the turbo end of the pipe, the Prodrive item has a divider/splitter which allow the wastegate gases to escape without causing turbulence to the exhaust gases exiting the turbo. The factory item has a closed wastegate exit which I knew about but still cannot understand why this is the case?

The two centre sections alongside each other, I must say the Scorpion centre section fitted perfectly with no fitment issues at all.

The one thing that we were dreading was the dreaded downpipe to turbo stud nuts being seized in place, but as with everything found on this car so far nothing has proved problematic as the car is in such fantastic condition.
The only downside to fitting the Prodrive downpipe is that now the turbo heat shield will not fit so I now have to order a turbo heat blanket, as the Prodrive item is double entry and the factory item is single entry.
Here is a quick clip of the improved exhaust note, there is a negligible increase in volume but more an improvement in tone, as the resonated centre section made the tone quite muted. Please note that the engine was warmed up before this clip and the water you can see exiting the silencer is due to the build up of condensation inside due to the frequent start ups, and being driven in and out of the workshop.
I then gave the engine bay and the exterior of the car a quick (but good) wash, and I think even without the paint having been detailed that it looks pretty damn good.

Next we brought the car back in the workshop to fit the genuine Subaru wind deflectors, not a job you can afford to mess around with so I got Ryan to do all the work as once it's in place you don't have much time for adjustments.

Until Ryan can get a perfect match the painting will be held off, I wouldn't want the paintwork looking like a patchwork quilt - from memory I remember Jarvis telling me that there are at least 6 different versions of WR blue that he knew about.

as much as i hate mudflaps on imprezas they are a necessary evil to prevent the doors being peppered in stone chips from the front wheels.
are you fitting any to save the original paintwork?

It's all to do with MY and the paint manufacturer, they all differ slightly as there are many OE paint suppliers.
