Well the front lower grille is going on Rob albeit without the Zunsport badge.
I'm just as keen to get it on the road ASAP Rob, I've promised you a drive of it and I intend to keep that promise - my plans have shifted slightly partly down to delays and some down to myself changing my mind on certain things.
Hopefully it's all ahead full steam from now on in, and it'll make my now revised / expected date for a mapping session with Bob Rawle.

Well today I got a few more jobs out of the way today.
Refitted the freshly painted replacement mirrors that I bought, they've been refinished in black but in a satin finish/lacquer, they certainly finish the exterior of the car - it didn't look right without it's 'ears'.
Fitted the new head unit, it's a Pioneer AVH-X2600BT - I haven't really had that much time to have a play with it yet but so far what I've seen I really like.
The fitment included having to splice together the ISO loom into the custom loom that the head unit is supplied with. The opposing wires were connected using soldered straight connectors, once they are heated up the solder melts joining the wires and the shrink fit then shrinks around the world wires to ensure a sealed connection.
Also got the RCM 340lph fuel pump fitted as well, I'd forgotten how much of a tight fit the pump is into the Spec C fuel pump cradle. The RCM pump is slightly larger than the standard fuel pump, it's a snug fit but once I'd remembered the previous one I'd fitted it was all plain sailing from there on in.
It's fair to say I'm now an expert at the removal and refitment of newage rear seats, I can do it with my eyes closed - as I had them in and out 3 times for various reasons, mainly due to a lack of concentration on my part.

Not too far away Kev, all systems are go for the car being completed by the end of this month with the exception of the mapping and the geometry alignment.
I've proposed some dates to Bob Rawle for March but he's fully booked up well into April plus he now only maps on weekdays, plus I'm not that keen on road mapping either, in fact I'm totally against it especially in heavy weekday traffic.
So I've got to either compromise or come up with alternatives - I do have the option of using Richard Bulmer @ Tractive Solutions who can map the car on their hub dyno, or possibly JGM if he comes down to Indigo GT soon. I could also get the geometry done at both locations, so I've got some thinking to do.

Richard Bulmeris a fine mapper, you would not go far wrong there.
Not sure if he does alignment tho.
Edit to say yes he does

He's always busy but he doesn't need to push himself, his customers do it for him plus the hub dyno is a definite advantage as it's got all the benefits of RR mapping with none of the drawbacks.

I have other options open to me but I've always been happy with Bob, if I go with JGM at Indigo GT then I can take a half day at work as it's only 25 minutes from my workplace.
The other option of Tractive Solutions I've yet to explore, the only drawback is that they are in Melton Mowbray.
Ty, get yourself a nice standard UK supplied car, leave it as God intended and then no more issues / worries
On a separate issue.........I've just had a nice car you'd like very much
Dave.

I've managed to source a Prodrive rear diff guard this evening, it came up for sale on here and I was straight onto it. They don't come up for sale very often, I missed out on one a while back so I didn't want to miss out on another.
This isn't the actual one but what it will look like after it's been polished and the lettering refinished.

It won't look shiny for long on the welsh B-roads. I went for function over style ( or maybe because it was half the price) and got this one from Peter Lloyd. I was surprised how many scratches appeared on the bottom of the guard, after a few spins on Wales' finest.

That's a dream car I've always wanted to own but never really taken it much further, what are the running costs like on one of them? Are we talking about selling vital organs or are they quite reasonable?
Plus any pics.

Not too expensive to be honest! You need to stay away from Porsche servicing but they are no more expensive to run than a Subaru. This is one of my previous cars that i sold to a mate in Northern Ireland. It's only run around 4k miles in the last 4 years and has mostly been kept in a carcoon so still looks A1.

So the bodywork minor issues are to be addressed next, the car for it's age is in brilliant condition - it hasn't had any paint or panels replaced previously and the underside is as new.
Below are some of the minor blemishes which are to be found on many much newer cars let alone an 11 year old car. These are going to be addressed this week by Ryan, once I have some further pics then they will be posted up.
Most of the issues just really need a good detailing/polish to remove the problem, the idea is that I want as little done as possible as the original paint is always preferable.

Obviously the rear bumper will definitely need a repair to the deep scratch and repaint, the NSR door where the paint had a slight chip will have a local repair.
The repair to the bonnet plus the OSF wing are yet to be decided on how to tackle them, but needless to say once they have been done you will never know they had been there to start with.
There are a couple of very small minor dents which will have PDR (paintless dent repairs) carried out on them, they are literally tiny but knowing they are there is enough so they are getting done as well.
The wheels have some very minor curb marks on them which I knew about before the car left Japan, these will have some very localised 'smart' repairs carried out on them - again the idea is to keep them as original as possible.
