To copy is to replicate exactly, but there a many subtle changes which allow similarities, but not copy. You should read the high court judgement to better understand the legal difference. I think you are going to be sorely disappointed when the final appeal is heard.

I won't be disappointed at all, I don't care now. Samsung blatantly copied Apple products, we all know that.

Yeah which ground breaking features did they copy? Look and Feel wasn't it?

The intellectual property was strong in that one...

Look and feel are pretty important, people are still buying Samsung products expecting them to be like Apple products, Christmas was nearly cancelled this year due to the disappointment last year. It's going to happen and it's not just Samsung, look at any nice PC Laptop, yup, Macbook. What gets me are people who can't accept that copying happens and even defend the copiers.

According to the UK High Courts, Samsung did not copy and infringe any copyrights and Apple stated this on their very own website. Apple have been found guilty of infringing Samsung's FRAND patents in their 3G iPads and iPhone 4 devices. So what?

Look and feel are important, but not copyrighted. You are deluded that you think people are comparing Samsung products to Apple's Samsung has established a huge customer base. You are using simplistic words 'copying' which doesn't represent what is actually happening. Its the way the market works, apple are trying to have a monopoly which won't work, unless they move in multi model range and compete on price, they will shrivel and become a niche high cost product, at the cost of their investors

Where is the copying? At best similar, not copyright protected or patentable. Where do you think Apple got their inspiration LG Prada and Sony. Haha. Everyone mimics even apple

You are right, there really is nothing to see. Both Apple and Samsung are guilty of infringements depending on which country makes the ruling. These companies amongst many in this very competitive market will forever be suing each other for alleged infringements of patents it's getting stupid. The fault lies with patent offices that allowed companies to file patents so generalised and vague that it is almost impossible not to infringe and then for the patent trolls to stifle innovation and invention.

Forget the patents, look at the goods. I don't see any Apple product or packaging looking like a Samsung product.

do i raly have to go through every apple product?

ok here we go,

The iphone, how it looks is still open to debate who came up with how it looked, as you just showed, however the idea of a smart phone came out way before, nokia was the first wither there origional 9000 series fromt he late 90's. While they were in different forms (flip down keayboard) the idea of the phone doing lots of jobs was there already.

Tablet, IBM showcased one in the 80's

Siri, o wait apple bought that company

apple 1, took the idea of the early computers and micral N

need i go on?

Jack is shooting his own argument, neither apple Samsung or any other company can truly claim they were the first, the iPhone mimics earlier phones. It has been already proven around the world courts, apple has not had their design copied. Only in their back yard has apple had a success, but this will change when it goes to appeal. Apple is desperate to get some form of payments out of Samsung before the patents it used become invalid due to prior art and re examination.

Andy, show me a phone that operated like the iPhone before the iPhone. All were bloody awful and you know it. Give Apple some credit now and then and you might gain some credibility.

What phone operates like an iPhone other than another iPhone?

IPhone design very much like LG Prada- Prada came first

Samsung F700 design front similar to iPhone. F700 came first

That is design taken care of

Software design. Slide to unlock Neo prior art. Apple patent invalid.

Bounce back Lira prior art apple patent narrowed so much it has become useless.

Android OS Foss

Samsung decided to mimic apple, however apple used Sony's design for layout, but, and its a big but, there is nothing in law to stop them to mimic as long as it doesn't replicate a design.

Apple are crying foul because they cannot compete against the onslaught of Samsung's plethora of models so litigated in the hope of maintaining market dominance-that has failed, litigation has failed. Apple's reputation has paid a heavy price, as has their share price.

LG Prada http://www.letsgomobile.org/en/revie...g-prada/page4/ notice the date and how nice that OS looks and operates. Nothing like a current phone and certainly not copied by Apple.

F700, glad you mentioned that too, especially without reading Jon's fail above. http://androidcommunity.com/who-was-...nked-20110420/

Nothing was like the iPhone before the iPhone arrived, it stunned the mobile world. You should be applauding Apple without them you'd still be using a tiny keyboard on a Blackberry.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_Prada

Nothing was copied, but inspired, apple's ideas are not special but an evolution of ideas. What people don't like is apple trying to bully others with weak invalid patents.

Take a look at the features introduced by the iPhone, hundreds of them hardware and software. Now take a look at any smartphone, that's right, to use your bumchum's own words "inspired" by Apple.
