It IS a good result - far, far better than falling in love with it only to find you have to pile the money in to keep the affair going.
As TT's mentioned, there's a current thread asking if anyone has used Hurst Cars.
Read that - you even get info from the guy himself.
PS - be interesting to see if the car mentioned by TT is still available

No it's the hawkeye, don't like blob eye as much and jdm rare and have their own drawbacks in getting parts, ins. However, would go for one if one comes up, the white one is sold at hurst cars. I accept the need to have forged rebuild so will factor that into any buying decision this is a car for like not Xmas

White ones are as rare as rocking horse poo and I personally wouldn't buy a UK 2.5 Hawk without the pistons and HG being sorted (or budget for it). The 2.5 is a mighty engine for the road when sorted though.
My fully forged 2.5 Hawk is for sale in the FS section but I think it's a bit out of your price range.

Going to look at a 2006 hawkeye sti in urban grey on monday at jperformance, little bit pricey but we shall see, only 26k miles, but is also PPP, any comments or advice on buying welcome, had good tips on here already

)My brother went to see a wr blue hawk and @ jperformance and said it was immaculate or there is a very nice looking blob widetrack at hurst

It is a better car and in my opinion the finest of the UK Newage cars especially with that PPP. Get one with Prodrive Springs and a short shift gearbox it's a really sweet drive!

Well one can change ones mind had a Megga stressful day with esp garage over refund, bloody awful. Argued over the phone. Hopefully get money back tomorrow . All of this has started to make me doubt the hawkeye despite it been my favourite.

I hope both of you can come to some sort of arrangement.
I advise businesses and individuals all the time and quite often it works out in their favour.
Having said that I'm a terrible businessman (as the wife will tell you).
I always look at it from the customer's point of view. Been done a few times (not for mega bucks fortunately).
I think I have a feel for the situation.
I'm extremely biased re. the hawkeye, for good reason.
If you did win enough on your extra Lucky Dip yesterday get a JDM one - whatever colour.

Hi, thanks. Yes we came to agreement but only after I was screwed over. Tried telling me they were doing me a favour with refund and that they didn't have to give full refund just repair it which is a load of bull. Never mind hopefully get monies today. Jdm ones are nice I agree

Plenty of mint Blobs on the market with low mileage, I sold mine in 2012 with 45k on the clock with a folder of receipts and bills as well as FSH within the recommended intervals. Being picky there were a few small paint chips on the front and it was fitted with an aftermarket recirc dump valve that I never saw need to remove.
I had used that car as my main driver for over a year and added 13k miles with no issue. It was a great car and in many ways more fun to drive fast than my current one, as that has the potential to hit uncomfortable speeds far more quickly and corners as capably with less input and effort.
I don't think the UK Hawk is as good as the car that preceded it so my advice would be to avoid them unless you plan to modify the suspension setup and forge the engine - expensive - then you have one hell of a car.
The problem that I found with the hawks I drove is that the damping was very hard yet the suspension quite soft which gave it quite an unusual compliance on most road surfaces. Having said that, the RB320 is well sorted and the only UK Hawk I would consider buying again unless I wanted to modify the nads off it - in which case go for a Spec D they are cheaper than all the other Hawks for some reason yet come with loads of toys and are the same car.
I wouldn't hurry, have a few cars in mind and when something suitable pops then go for it. I would have a UK Widetrack Blob, a JDM Widetrack Blob, JDM Hawkeye of any variety (including Litchfield models), RB320 or highly specced UK Hawk that has been forged (or you plan to forge) on your list of candidates.

and drive fab too. You are right not to rush into anything. Would you say that 75k on a UK blobeye sti 2005 widetrack is high or to cause concern. Seen one priced at £8.5k from trader, no PPP. seems a bit pricey?

RB320 the same engine as a normal UK STi, Going to get the same problem with Headgasket!!!

The number of members who say a forged UK 2.5 is awesome is almost as many who say an ex-factory one is crap.
For me the one big thing about an RB320 is the colour. I think OBM is beautiful.
An extra Lucky Dip for me this weekend.
Mr ***** would rise to the occasion if my Hawk turned to OBM.

Though I would point out the early MY06 Hawks are even more prone to HG failure due to the gaskets lifting more easily than the revised engine from the MY07 cars.
