You might find it worth trying Iain Litchfield directly. He still services some of them as far as I'm aware (well my T20 Blob at least), and may know if any are coming up for sale.

But I can't seem to find what colours they came in and more importantly the price tag on them, I know they're going to be silly money but I just can't find how silly we're talking. And how likely it is to actually find one for sale!?
I believe that the available colours of a T25 Hawk would be the same as those available on JDM Hawks, since of course that's what they started life as. I'm not sure if red was one of them, but there are certainly red T25 Hawks about.

Around the beginning of this year Hurst had one advertised. I think it was £17K+.

The BIG problem that you'll encounter imo is rarity.

First, there wasn't many of them made.
Next, you can't order the colour, it was down to whatever Litchfield ordered, whether 'on spec' or customer wishes, and unlike normal volume scoobies there won't be a spread of all standard colours, and plenty of examples of each.

Basically if you really want one, whatever you see, you get - and get it quickly.

If you want an owner's view pm T5NYW - he's got one.
(Iirc there's a thread called 'Got an MY05 Litchfield' or similar).

Personally I don't think they're that expensive for what they are.
Absolutely no disrespect to any owner but the difference between a T25 and other models (T20 apart ) in terms of 'standard' performance, rarity and admiration/respect for the model (it's on the verge of 'classicness' ), there's a lot more difference than there is in their respective price tags.

Oh - and the 'keeping costs' are far cheaper.

No-one would mod a T25 - would they ?

There were two variants of Type 25 to my knowledge though some were built to custom spec according to customer donor cars or whatever they decided to import as the base car.

One was based on the Japanese A-line, kind of our equivalent of the Spec D.

The other was based on the Spec C and was obviously equipped with the usual refinements.

I've driven a very high spec Spec C-25 that was running around 460 bhp and it's an animal but wouldn't recommend it as a daily driver unless you could tolerate the drone from the road and firm ride. Most of them ran between 415 and 425bhp.

I did also drive a very nice car that Iain had in about two years ago, it was a standard JDM Hawk with the LM400 turbo upgrade, Miltek exhaust, filter and remap that was a lovely car (but truth be told didn't feel like a 400bhp car). Might be worth looking out for one of them because they can be run quite safely to high 300s without much work being done.

Apart from bolt-on mods such as mudflaps and dress up I wouldn't see why you'd want to mod one, but to be fair it is in some people's eyes a highly modified Impreza to begin with.

By the way my above comments relate to the Hawk version, I think the Blob was based on the standard JDM car.

I forgot about the alternatives, 'standard' or 'Spec C' sorry.

I know we had a recent thread regarding 'when is a car not a car' and doing anything non-cosmetic (unless replacement parts) to an edition as limited as the Litchfields would in my view be bonkers.

For example, stick a 2.35 in it, 500+ bhp.
It then becomes a JDM STi with a 2.35, ASTs etc. and Type 25 badging.

And (apart from the engine), don't we see those on Ebay every now and then?

Twice ???

First, obviously feel for you.

Next, don't use the same builder next time, unless you've had a good talk to them and it was a quality issue with the internals themselves (and then of course make sure you don't use that company's components again).

Only last week ET said something in a thread.

"When we fix them they stay fixed".

That should be the case.

That's the one I referred to in another thread (or was it this one earlier???).

It was early this year (poss very late last year) £13,990 p/ex and then £11,990.

(I remember now, there was some smarta$$ advising that the op (of that thread) could get a T25 for £10K - a MK1 mind you.).

All I can say is 'think Blob JDM STi - how much, and is the price difference between it and this T25 a) reasonable; b) a bargain; or c) nonsense ???

I honestly don't know, but the answers will guide your decision.

It will cost you a few hundred quid extra but you'll get that back come re sale time.
+++++1 on the above that's why mine is off the road at the moment.

I understand why some colors and specs hold there value better than others, but I just don't get it. Is it just the white paint that makes it worth £2000+ more or am I missing something,it doesn't fly does it.
