It's profitable if the immigrants don't have a national insurance number and the invoice just shows work done rather than man hours etc.

Indeed, and isn't 60 hours per week against EU regulations (not that i agree with the EU)?

Well you've said there was four of them plus the geordie. Lets pretend the geordie is also getting 10pound per hour and that they are being paid for 4hours work once travelling time is taken into consideration. 40x5=200 on wages alone for one job without considering travel costs, insurance, sundries, disposal costs including additional labour involved. Leaves little profit, I wonder how he affords to pay their holiday pay.

Being at work is not the same as working. Somebody should cross-reference your 'surfing' against your 'working' hours.

The Geordie is opportunistic, and the foreign workers are happy to work under the same conditions they would back home.
Sorted.

Ah it's the Imperial Wizard of the Scoobynet anti gay marriage Klan. I would say I wondered where you'd got to but as I couldn't actually give a **** whether you're alive or dead I'd be lying!

As I work for myself and earn myself a lifestyle I am happy with you can cross reference your braincell with your **** for all I care

Well if you think using a chainsaw requires a high level of skill then I guess that says more about your own limitations than anyone else's. Then again you are obviously unable to clean your own house as well... tell you what ... why not have a go with that chainsaw

Im with you F1 if the lazy locals wont do it and the immigrants will I really dont give a crap if they have national insurance or any cause the jobs done, no hassle. I have been trying to get someone to do a paving job but want to pay the going rate as I percieve it amazing how the price jumps £200 quid from a winter job to a summer job by the same firm after a requote. Wants any work during winter so cheaper price. All I want is value for money..

Well as said I tried to give it to a local native, he did very little and disappeared without trace so I called in people who wanted to get the job done

My father works in a place where the foreigners come over work their butts off for 6 months and then dive on the benefits.

Some do work exceedingly hard and others just steal our fish etc. one thing is for certain. Many are more then happy to live 12 in a house sharing everything and therefor they don't need a huge income. The British public can't survive / doesn't want to survive on such little so don't bother.

I do think they need to remove all benefits for everyone unless you have paid in an amount. Even disables could find work - there is a sex market and the circus. Yes people would pay.

Why the requote? Perhaps the "firm" saw you as a timewaster.

Apologies as I didn't see this. I think the maths sort of checks out not that I should have to worry about it... I just wanted my garden sorted and a proper invoice for the work done.

There was no travelling time as such as they were on another job close by and anyway a lot of people aren't paid for travelling unless it is outside their normal working area.

They were here 3.5 hours so that is 4 x 3.5 x 10 = 140. The company owner was not here duing the job as he was off checking on another job (he employs about 15 people from what I can gather) so his 'wage' would be drawn from the overall company turnover.

If they work 6 days a week and have plenty of good paying work I think it works out OK.

It won't be happening because you cannot produce an invoice.

I'll ignore this one Frank as you are a bit confused. I assume that is what the f1 relates to.

He arrived to discuss the job with me, set them to work and then left returning at the end of the job. Is that really so hard for you to understand? He employs a lot of people, they all need managing. It's how thousands of companies work.

Now what is really interesting here is your seemingly endless determination to prove I am in some way lying. All this 'I'll be watching for edits' like you are some authority... it's all a bit OCD!

Anyway any psychologist will tell you that people only think like this when they themselves are of a similar mind as it doesn't enter normal people's heads to think like that!! Of course psychologists are not always right are they?

So are you now saying these model employees cannot be trusted to cut down a tree? It's not like it's a skilled job or anything as you said earlier. Also, 4 is not "a lot".

You don't need to be a psychologist or a liar to know when someone is lying.

Just admit you are a sad little racist troll who takes every opportunity to badmouth the U.K. and is prepared to tell lies to make that point.

There are some decent open minded people on here, but as much the ones who havent seen further than their garden fence as well... Why would you judge , put everyone in the same boat. There are at least 5 different nationalities of imigrants , all totaly different cultures etc... How the hell you can say they all the same , claming benefits and ripping the system off? FFS wake up, its sound like your blood is different color than mine... As this stereotyped image hsngs up on us i'd say, if you keep looking at all this in the way you do now, you'll never be able to see the reality as there are decent blokes and their not from UK but live here.

You are honestly wasting your time mate. The fact that some immigrants might just be normal hardworking people wanting a better life is not something some on here are able to comprehend. It''s a waste of time going into why!

I'd bet good money they weren't wearing the correct PPE, hold the relevant certificates for using chainsaws or paying tax. Not because of their nationality, but for how little the boss charged you!

Running our van, chipper, saws etc costs a fortune, add to that the cost of certification, liability insurance etc. Its the guys popping along in the evenings, cutting corners, endangering people and property that devalues our 'unskilled' work.

Recently a gardener got fined £6k for not wearing the correct PPE, holding the correct certs and undertaking tree work unsafely.

Yeah I'm sure F1 would be first to rail at the likes of Starbucks for not paying tax or for Apple for having dodgy safety in its Chinese factories (or at least via its contractors), but it is ok for some dodgy euro traders to flout tax and safety!?

Yep, no wonder legit businesses are going bust. Sticking to the rules, paying tax, insurance etc whilst immigrants cream it, paying no contributions and sending all the money back home… No doubt F1 will have more drivel about the UK needing more immigrants flooding in to the already over stretched country. But hey, as long as he gets his tree’s chopped down on the cheap….
