At the end of the day you banned him because you were worried he would have a better event than what you could come up with, just admit it 3 year ban is nothing why not give him a 5 year one just for the sake of it as stated before people are big enough and old enough to choose what events they want to attend, who cares if there is more than 1 RR day, and what about your members who can't make the day YOU specify? Where is the thought for them then? Your day may not be convenient for everyone this is why we have a thing called CHOICE.
No offence but I'm glad I'm not part of a club that's run by hitlers god help you trying to have a fun day out with other members
I tell you what op shall we organise a RR day
Jut start a thread and invite your buddies from the club, they can't ban you from here and no doubt you will get more names

You put up a post about a rolling road day without even asking whether it is ok to post it. I answered your post and told you that a rolling road day would be arranged for September and gave you the reasons why - i.e. that there are other events happening within the following months and so as not to detract from those days, the club would be holding a rolling road day in September.
You then said 'cool you'll wait until September'
Then up comes a list for your rolling road day that you were organising again and you were again told by my wife that there would be a rolling road day organised by the club in September.
The thread was then moved into the MOD area when you started trying to enlist other people to your argument and you then posted FAO Admin and Nic (Mrs_Mid_Life_Crisis) replied as to why your post had been moved and explained that we space events out so as everyone get a chance to attend as many as possible as not every one has unlimited funds to attend everything.
Your post was then moved back when Jonny (founder member) also posted about our intentions to hold the rolling road day in September and you continued in getting other people involved and he banned you.
Had you bothered to ask if it was ok to post about the rolling road you would have been told exactly the same that the club would arrange a rolling road day in September as we always have done in the past.
Nobody stopped you from organising your rolling road - just from using the forum to do it.
The whole of NESF is free, we do not charge for anything or make any profit from the sale of clothes, stickers etc and all the work that the Mods/Admin do is unpaid - we try to be fair with everyone and even though you had been told numerous times you carried on - what other action could be taken?

Everything I did initially was out of pure ignorance, I didn't realise I needed permission to arrange a meet, if I had I wouldn't have bothered. I honestly thought I was doing a good thing and helping other members out. If you read my early post I only reposted my RR thread as I had initially be doing it on my mobile and thought I'd messed up.
After the second one was removed I put up the FAO to find out why as I hadn't been informed. I got a response to that thread but when I started to put my thoughts across those posts were removed then the thread deleted.
At the end of the day its your forum and you run it how you wish but even now you have put your side across I think everyone can see how silly things have gotten. if I'd been told right from the very beginning NOT to arrange one through the forum I wouldn't have.
As you me saying "yes I'd wait til September" thats true, I would have, but members started texting me and PMing asking if I still wanted to arrange one as they couldn't make the september one or didn't want to wait. Again, I thought I was helping.
You can google my username, I use it for all my car related stuff and never once have my good intentions been made to look like this.
Plenty of people have contacted me from NESF saying they can't believe I've been banned. I tild you it would have been well covered and docmented onto NESF but you weren't interested.
I personally think you've taken things too far and aren't man/woman enough to admit you over reacted.
The only slightly disrespectful post I made was saying that if members did still want to come they would have to ask your permission and see if they had enough pocket money left.
Anyway, I'm done, you've seen my thoughts and others.
Enjoy your meets, but think about this, it was mentioned that NESF now has 1000 members, do you want them to only attend your arranged events???? Might be worth telling them and maybe putting up a disclaimer.
Cheers

Stu I understand what you are saying and at the end of the day it's something you need to sort out with Jonny as it was his decision.
Nic only replied to your FAO the Admin to make you aware as to the reason why.
Feel free to contact Jonny via the Admin using the contact button on the main forum page and if he doesn't pick it up then someone will make sure he's aware of the message.
And also for the record the ban date isn't thought out it's only a button where you enter how many days the ban would be for .. so if someone put 365 then its a year .. but say a higher number 500, 5000 would predict a different date so many days into the future.

Sorry,it's not our fault it's the system. We where just following orders.
I have come across this petty bureaucracy before in small organisations.
Did he boast about getting drunk & driving then killing someone?
3 year ban is utterly indefensible.Grow up it's a car forum. Not exactly important in the grand scheme of things.

Either the mod needs to get some perspective, climb down from his high horse, and grow the **** up.
OR,
OP needs to vote with his feet and make like a tree!

If anyone is in the mood for seeing just how precious some mods can be on forums... Get yourself signed up on candlepower forum. The level of moderating there is pure play ground stuff, and he who dares to even question anything gets a 'cooling off' ban. If you come back and lick the boots of certain mods on there, you'll be ok. Duplicate a post (even if a similar one was made a year ago deep in the database) and you'll get a warning. If you're lucky some crazy mod will spend all night searching for similar then copy and paste your question onto an old thread, close your thread just with a warning left behind

It's not too much to ask if it's ok to post something up is it? I would have thought that was common decency?
The club has been run this way since day one (prior to us being mod/admin and has seemed to manage quite well up until now - to have people arranging loads of different events in the name of the 'club' isn't feasible and we need to know what's going on where.
9 times out of 10 if someone suggests something it's perfectly fine to go ahead and do it but when they continue to push and push when they've already been told numerous times that we as a club didn't want to arrange a rolling road day until the upcoming events had passed then what would you do - i'm sure the same thing would happen on here.
Stualex has never been involved in any of the events, in the planning or even attending them or the meets and originally wanted to use various venues to hold it - even giving three dates one of which was the day of the NBO ??

Would people be allowed to post and ask for help or do they need to check with you first as well?

Just read some of that last quote from Paul. So because I haven't been involved in any meets or events that gives me less right to want to organise one. I would love to know the 3 venues I apparently suggested as AFAIK in only montentioned Motorscope, I would check but anything refering to a RR day was deleted. And what were these other dates, I only came up with one weekend. And so what someone does choose the the weekend of NBO for an event, PEOPLE WILL CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO DO.

Stu, pop along to the meet on Tuesday and we can have a talk about it, I may have been a little hasty banning you to be perfectly honest.
After reading your side of the story I can see where you are coming from, as a small regional forum we sometimes have an issue making the numbers required to run a rolling road day, that is why they are spaced out like they are.
I understand you didn't know this so apologise for taking such a hard stance with you, totally my mistake, no one else's.
Jonny.

Thanks for jumping on the thread and realising where I was coming from, and apologising, not an easy thing to do on a public forum so I appreciate it.
Would be glad to come along to the meet but I'm on 3-11 this week. Don't let my activity on the forums fool you, I may be at work but still manage to utilise my time, to my benefit.
Will be trying to get along to some of the meets in future but its hard to sort out whilst I'm banned
Oh yes, and wont be arranging anything of the 22nd and 23rd as I realised its the Touring Cars at Croft so will be busy there all weekend.
Cheers
Stu
