This thread is awesome lol
I've been to evotune in Durham with the GT4OC and I have to say the bloke seemed spot on took great care of everyone's motors and he set a couple of cars up to get them running better, adjusting fpr's etc iirc
Evotune were worlds apart from a rr day I went to in boldon which was a bit of a joke lol

I've used evotune for both a RR day and also mapping by Duncan. Many say evotune gives lower results but then it's about how the car drives not about ***** waving. Other RR's give optimistic results...i.e. making near enough 300bhp on a TD04.
I'd rather know the true BHP and then tell my own lies about it later on

You put up a post about a rolling road day without even asking whether it is ok to post it. I answered your post and told you that a rolling road day would be arranged for September and gave you the reasons why - i.e. that there are other events happening within the following months and so as not to detract from those days, the club would be holding a rolling road day in September.
You then said 'cool you'll wait until September'
Then up comes a list for your rolling road day that you were organising again and you were again told by my wife that there would be a rolling road day organised by the club in September.
The thread was then moved into the MOD area when you started trying to enlist other people to your argument and you then posted FAO Admin and Nic (Mrs_Mid_Life_Crisis) replied as to why your post had been moved and explained that we space events out so as everyone get a chance to attend as many as possible as not every one has unlimited funds to attend everything.
Your post was then moved back when Jonny (founder member) also posted about our intentions to hold the rolling road day in September and you continued in getting other people involved and he banned you.
Had you bothered to ask if it was ok to post about the rolling road you would have been told exactly the same that the club would arrange a rolling road day in September as we always have done in the past.
Nobody stopped you from organising your rolling road - just from using the forum to do it.
The whole of NESF is free, we do not charge for anything or make any profit from the sale of clothes, stickers etc and all the work that the Mods/Admin do is unpaid - we try to be fair with everyone and even though you had been told numerous times you carried on - what other action could be taken?

Sorry, but why should somebody have to ask permission to organise, or gauge interest in a possible event?
Fair enough, as a club, you space specific club events out for the reasons you have given, which are sensible enough. However, this was a totally separate day out, nobody was obliged to go, or pressurised to do so. Also, what about members that may not have been able to attend the September RR day, or were possibly happy/able to go to both?
I appreciate it is your forum to do as you please, but it seems a bit OTT to take such a hard line with someone for having the audacity to try to arrange a day out. I know you say you weren't stopping him organising one (which you couldn't) just not on the forum, but that just seems a bit petty. Why is it even a problem? It's not like he was taking the **** to try and make money out of his event so far as I can tell.

That forum, to me, comes across as being run by naive moderators.
...Can't believe their 'fascist-like' regime.
I guess we're quite spoilt on SN, by comparison.

With all due respect I think people are big enough to make their own choices as to when and where they want to attend, as for getting banned for trying to organise a COMMUNITY event is just IMO
Are you for real I thought the whole point of a sight like this is for people to enjoy and interact, I can't believe you want people to "ask permission" first if they can ask other members if they would like to join in an event lookin at that thread there seems to be a few who had interest in a RR day, you gonna ban them an all
Get your flame suit on you can't ban us on here

It's not too much to ask if it's ok to post something up is it? I would have thought that was common decency?
The club has been run this way since day one (prior to us being mod/admin and has seemed to manage quite well up until now - to have people arranging loads of different events in the name of the 'club' isn't feasible and we need to know what's going on where.
9 times out of 10 if someone suggests something it's perfectly fine to go ahead and do it but when they continue to push and push when they've already been told numerous times that we as a club didn't want to arrange a rolling road day until the upcoming events had passed then what would you do - i'm sure the same thing would happen on here.
Stualex has never been involved in any of the events, in the planning or even attending them or the meets and originally wanted to use various venues to hold it - even giving three dates one of which was the day of the NBO ??

As Lisa states its your club and your forum and I can see what your getting at with attending events etc, but if someone wanted a RR day away from the club and was just seeing if anybody else is interested surely there is no malice behind that, so why ban him for 3 years
Christ we have events popping up all over the place people just stick up, I've attended different events through different clubs before, its nice to have a variety IMO and meet new people who share common interests

We just can't believe you would have to ask permission for such a thing, in the first place. It seems bizarre to most on here, hence the OP's gripe.
SN members quite often create 'group mapping/rolling road' threads. It's not an issue. Not even if SN have one already arranged.
Different cultures, I guess. Which is fair enough, I suppose: different forum, different rules. But I don't agree with it lol.
(Very harsh to ban him though, IMO.)

I just don't understand such a tough approach, nor the permission thing to be honest.
Just because someone may want to go to Stu's RR day, doesn't mean they wouldn't go to the club one and if they did choose his over the club one, like I say, maybe that's because they couldn't make the September one anyway. Also, if it had been arranged for the day of the NBO (perhaps he didn't realise), then again, it would surely be down to the individuals to choose where to go.
I'm honestly not trying to be rude, but this response to him just seems to be one of 'it's either our event or no event' and that does come across a bit toys out the pram from the outside looking in.

You want to go on vvoc.com
That place is atrocious for banning members including me lol
That all started because i went to a different regions meet and our regions rep spat her dummy our lol
Plus having a go at a member because he messed about with parts I was selling
And your not alout to organise aby thing without it going through the area rep first
Abd if theres more than one rep you have to ask both its crazy
We had one instance were a member asked one of the reps for a detailing meet but couldnt get hold of the other as they was away when she came back the thread got deleted and he got a bolocking
Was about 30 names down

the reason we couldnt do the RR day on the day you wanted was because it clashed with events already arranged.
i personally never banned you, but you will have been banned for a reason..
as for the other other members on here who have been banned from nesf you no the reasons why..
as said above if you dont like owa forum there is always TTS....

Seriously you and OP should have a fight to settle this once and for all!

Just to clarify things Stu you were NOT banned for trying to arrange a meet - it was the way you were going about things and kept on despite being told the club's reasons why there wasn't going to be a rolling road day until September and involving other members and it was a Founder Member who banned you.
Anyone who has been banned is so for a legitimate reason - there is a method of contacting Admin following being banned on the home page of the forum and MODs can all be contacted while on the forum very easily.
The club does have rules and they have been there since day one , laid down by the Founder Members and the Mods and other Admin are only following them to try and keep a level of fairness and order which seems to work for the majority of people and the club moves along quite happily.
Another rule exists which is laid out fully for all to see not allowing people to join and immediately trade or join purely to trade and this protects the members as much as anything .
Scoobynet allow people to arrange events - this is because they don't arrange events themselves.
