Illegal websites
At the shallow end of the spectrum, I downloaded The Bourne Legacy (load of **** btw!) last night. All my ISP knows is that 750mb of data arrived at my computer from dozens of different sources around the globe.....it has no idea the content of that data or exactly where it came from.
There is no way that could have been stopped. Sure, they can find wherever The Pirate Bay is being hosted and shut down the servers, but that wont stop anything mainly because the films etc are not there, they are distributed in small chunks around the world on individual computer, besides it will just pop up somewhere else within a couple of days anyway.

To say it is untracable is not true - in the case of bittorrent there is nothing stopping an ISP/police from themselves being a peer/host of an illegal file and knowing the IP address of any peers downloading from you, pretty sure this is how they obtain details of people who have conducted illegal torrent file sharing and brought cases against them.

There are plenty of related stories - have a read about ACS Law, the law firm that sent out thousands of threatening letters to alleged copyright infringers, before ending up in court themselves and going bankrupt having never, as far as I know, actually managed to bring a successful prosecution against any of the people they accused of being pirates.

Yes children looking at **** is morally questionable but then surely that's for the parents to address?
Let's be clear here, are you saying that if Mark Bridger had not had access to child **** images he would not have killed April Jones?
Lol, It's like saying everyone who watches Texas Chain Saw Massacre is going to go buy a chain saw and commit mass murder, when quite frankly it's never going to happen.
What was the stimulus for Jack the Ripper? some bar maids ankle?
Twisted people do twisted things. Simple, no amount of censorship will change that, these people will always find a way around the system as illustrated by "the deep web" which I never knew existed prior to this thread, but that's no surprise as i'm neither into computer technology or clandestine activities.

So pornography involving people of the relevant legal age should be illegal on the basis children can access it? On that logic then should cars be illegal because children can access them?

How do parents monitor their children when they are not watching them using a computer?
If you feel **** is important to you for the purposes of self gratification then you can get publications to fulfil all your desires!
Les
More or less what i posted on page 1 . If its in the persons character they will still carry out these crimes whether seeing **** or not. Ive looked at **** for years (like so many people) but its never made me want to go out and carry out abhorrent crimes, kids or otherwise.

Kids nowadays don't know they're born.
And as for how do parents monitor their children, I thought that was kinda obvious.
But if thats the case where do you stop with banning things that may inspire people to do bad things. Ok , child **** is an obvious , but rape , murder , sex , violence , bondage etc. can be seen in books , films , TV and even talked about on the news. If you try to ban sites that show these things , even the likes of Netflix , Love Film , even BBC iPlayer would have to be restricted.
No I don't think that is the case to be frank, as ditch said twisted people do twisted things... viewing/possessing images is a symptom not a cause
