Im going to go out on a limb here and possibly look strange (most of my friends think so and its rare I hear anybody agree with me) but I like my jeans - where do we all stand on washing them?
I personally try to avoid to, unless I **** my pants or heavily soil them I dont want to wash my demin (so never then, smart ****) but I do have to spill something on them etc to feel like I need to wash them.

I tend to use them for working in. (sweating)

Jeans need not be washed very often unless you have abnormally fast metabolism, mal-functioning kidneys or if you often spill your foods and beverages your jeans. Washing them too often means taking life out of them. When men wear frequently washed jeans, it looks as if they have pulled their adolescent son's or daughter's jeans up their hairy legs as a symptom of their mid life crisis.
There are some ladies who wash their husbands' jeans every time they take them off. These ladies even iron the jeans, the socks and the undies of all family members. Not right, that.

I give 'em a couple of weeks normally unless they get 'soiled'.
One issues with wearing jeans is I worry that one day I'll look like Jeremy Clarkson.
Never do 'double denim' BTW.

No, please don't. Don't wear shirts like James May either.
Yeah, but single denim (if that means same denim jacket and jeans) also make people look like 80's cowboy. If one is to go for single denim look, Unless he does the whole lot e.g. the cowboy hat and pointy shoes, he wouldn't look a part. He also needs to have a red cloth with him (Guns aren't allowed in the UK. Red cloth has to suffice) for "Come 'ere, bull. Come and get meeh !"

By 'double denim' I just means any denim top and jeans together. It's hard to pull this off without looking like something out of Nashville.

Upon final review, jeans are liked and worn by the most because they are durable and don't need much maintenance. People need not be judged in their jeans no matter how old or hanging. Who cares. No one is perfect in every sense, and that is a fact.

I think there is an age cut off where jeans become a fashion faux pas. Maybe when men get over 40? Clarkson's **** has the firmness of a dead squid so that doesn't help either.
Blimey, my old man is 80 he wears jeans and vans sneakers and frankly looks as cool as......what would you have the over 40's wear then, those stretchy 'leisure pants' that American octogenarians are so fond of?
...I don't think Clarkson has ever been or ever purported to be any kind of style icon either...

I have a Carhartt jacket, in beige, my wife bought in Boston in 1994, it is my "work" jacket, used for hardcore gardening etc
I bought another one in New York in 1996 - Dark Green, I wear them at least once a week in the winter
Apart from UV fade, both like new
100% quality - when America actually made stuff

I buy them sometimes from oki-ni in London my last pair of expensive ones were 230 quid and were Evisu before they started making fakes and proper crafted things, eventually my large knacker wore the hole and a quick stretch made my love bobbles fall out... Now I buy cheap ****e from sports direct for dossing round the house and 501s for general going out

I'm 37 and stopped buying expensive designer clothes a few years ago, not because I can't afford them but whats the point? My mrs can buy a cheap outfit and still look sh*thot then throw it it in bin. Why spend a fortune and clothes and have to keep them for years?
I buy my jeans from Next, they're comfortable and fit well. They're cheap enough to wear for a couple of month then bin. Who gives a f**k about brands??

Throw away clothes
I'm the reverse and tend to go for quality that stays looking good and lasts with just about everything except jeans, funnily.
I have a North Face summit series jacket that has just had it's 16th birthday, been worn all over the world and still gets worn on a daily basis in winter as it has done for the last 16, along with a pair of La Sportiva walking boots that I bought at the same time, just before the turn of the century to do the first sunrise of the new milenium on the top of Mount Sinai Egypt, which is how I'm able to date them so accurately.
As for jeans, in the time since this thread started I have bought 1 pair and the 10 quid Primark ones are just about to fall into the work wear category as do all my clothes, after which they go into the rags category for wiping windows or polishing cars etc, after which they see the bin only if they are soiled beyond being able to be used to soak up oil spills or wipe paint brushes.
I always find a use for everything, most things I buy go through this process, don't see the point in buying cloths to wipe windows when an old cotton t-shirt is as good as any cloth you can buy if not better.

As the owner of a pair of Hugo Boss jeans, i can say that paying extra for jeans is worth it. Better fit and better material. On top of that, they stay smarter for longer.
Now looking for a second pair of "decent" jeans. What the competition. Paul Smith or Vivienne Westwood take my fancy.
(and before anyone comments on the price, £ per minute worn,a decent pair of jeans are one of the best value items of clothing you can buy)

Here are my choice that I wear most
Diesel (normally black gold)
Levis - probably best fitting jeans I wear.
Zara - dirt cheap but a good fit.

Names used to mean something to me when i was trying to pull, but now I'm married i just doss in 10 quid ones LOL...
I do like the odd expensive thing, that i know will last like Coats, Boots etc. Never buy crap shoes as i feel these are one the best investments you can make, but you gotta shop with skill. As buying a pair of Maison Magliera as opposed to some nice RedWings or Wolverine 1000s milers, your paying 200 quid for his name...
Like most i used to wear Next shoes for work but eventually bought some Church and then Cheaneys, sold the church as there were not comfortable the cheaneys are cheaper but fit better
