Jeans.
got a couple of pairs of CK jeans for £20 each 10 years ago. Still fine, wearing them today. I do look like some kind of substitute teacher though, fashion is not a top priority for me, all I need is elbow patches
I recenly bought a couple of (extra lardy sized) Wranglers from TKMax the other day and am very happy (as in, they are not the normal super-slim-fit that is all you can get in your normal fashion store).
IMHO way better than Levis, who bowed down to the great god of cheapness (in quality) many years ago

g star for me, last for years and very comfy. my only gripe are button fly's. whats wrong with a good old zip? (yes, they can be very dangerous to your tackle) but if handled carefully they are much better than buttons. quick access in emergencies is whats needed lol. come to think of it, i want jeans with a safe velcro fly!!!
Paying more for jeans is generally something I agree with. However I bought some Diesel jeans which were very poor quality. The denim wore through at a fast rate. I took them back to House of Fraser, complained and they gave me some Levis (and a voucher for the difference) which have lasted for several years.
I think it might just be the brand as I have had a couple of Diesel tops that have also worn badly.

I've got diesel (zathan I think) from at least 8 years ago maybe longer and I paid £120 then and they're still like new apart from the bottoms fraying, but I know they have changed the place of manufacture now and the quality is ****e, the material, sizing and price... I wouldn't buy them now, I like g star and firetrap at the mo
I have never given that a thought but I must??
The pocket my keys go in never wears out is the one I always put my change in that does so more times putting my hand in and out of my pocket.
I have to go on fit not price, so when I find some that fit right I usually buy a couple of pairs, i've got big legs and can't be doing with tackle stranglers, if I can't bend down or kick to head height the're no good, which rules out a lot of the top brands like 501 which I can't get much above my knees in a 34"waist.
I'm sat here in a pair of primark jeans that cost a tenner and are 3yrs old, my fancy jeans are Gant and my current smart casual are Lee Cooper, Gant can be a bit pricey but I don't wear them much so doesn't matter, the Lee Cooper are quite good and not silly money.
Just to add, I don't care what they cost as I don't buy them very often so not a big issue.

I bought some Levi 501's from Costco and I thought the fit on the Levi's was terrible baggy as **** after a wear or two and the back pockets were nearly on the back of my knees. There was nothing good about these jeans.
Has anyone faced problem with Levi's fastening buttons? Once that button has gone, whole jean is worthless. Ex-mister T. is a Levi's fan. I had to throw his 501s away because when he overdid with his beer, his belly would expand, and his button would go pop. There was no way I could repair it, because those buttons are like built-in; studded with the button gun, I think. They leave a hole on the fabric, so even if I'd bought a button gun to fix them, the job would have been a bodged one. They all had to go to Oxfam for recycling.
no, I remember doing the whole shrink to fit malarkey with 501 Red Tab's in the 80's, many times, --- they came in the original unwashed denim and where stiff as fvck and enormous before washing or sitting in a hot bath!!!
The jeans had to have the correct white with red lines marking the "inside" of the outside seam
This marking was only found on the correct imported Jeans from the Levis factory in San Francisco -- using original production process
this all changed in the early 90's I think, when the Levis factory stopped using the original process/machinery

I'm sure there was a bit about these being appraised on that Storage Wars program.
One of the chaps bidding won a lockup and it had several pairs of these in it. Years old with that particular stitching/marking and worth upwards of $500-600 a pair.
