Oh well, I did wonder why we were alone at looking to take Thiago, here come the others, it was a nice dream for a couple of weeks

Looks like those legs were taken from beneath us by a crunching tackle from behind by Pep on that one, you knew it was all over once he got involved. Shame as he is a way better player than Fanregas who we've offered £25m for, that wont happen either

Anyone else think Moyes is trying a Wenger, make stupid bids for players we won't get then apologise in the new season and say look I tried.

I'm not Fabregas' biggest fan but i think he would be perfectly suited to what we need, someone with a good engine, an eye for a pass and a goal threat, whilst also not being scared to put a foot in. Alright not a Keano type, but i'm not sure in the current game you can get away with being a Keano type!

Frustrated at not getting Thiago but he is a bit more lightweight than Fabregas.

I think we'll maybe end up with Baines and Felliani and be left without a 'big name' signing. I'd like to think we could get Bale but Spurs will hold out for silly money, is he really worth silly money (would guess >£40m)?

Chelsea bid for Rooney rejected.

£10m + Mata apparently.

Low? Most utd fans would snap their hands off for that deal to be done - Rooney isn't the player he once was. Too fat, thinks he's better than he actually is, and he's lost his edge. Don't get me wrong, I'd have him at Citeh, but only as cover.

Not if you are keeping an eye on the comments on Sky Sports and the BBC web page.

99% of the comments (and me included) would take the 10 million and Juan Mata.

As Ferguson proved many times "nobody is bigger than the club"

Don't really understand Chelsea making the offer to be honest. Utd would be mad not to take it.

No, he's not the player he once was.
You can have him at citeh if you want.

If they said Rooney + £10m for Mata i'd say it was a decent deal

Seems Utd are being sensible so far and refusing to sell him to a top 4 rival.

Rooney to Eveton is 50/1 (was 100/1) yesterday.
I doubt he'd do it, but i'd take Fellaini + Baines for Rooney.

I think he's past his best and not worth it IMHO. Still he could still produce another cracking couple of years.

Not sure why Chelski want rid of Mata though?

Every one is guessing - we don't know who they were going to shift on

Chelsea are saying they didnt offer the players, however even if they did they would now say it is untrue following the rejection so as not to disrupt the players. Personally, i cant see that being true, if it were then we are mugs for not getting Mata in - i would have him in as a straight swap let alone the extra £10m.

According to some Spanish web site he has, but I would expect Levy to drag it out until the 11th hour at the very least, a United Real bidding war could break out (Levy hopes) and then he's off to Real

The thing is I reckon United have much less pulling power with Moyes in charge. Everyone thinks of the dour 'muscular' football of Everton, unfashionable northern club, etc.

People will get used to Moyes, and no doubt Ferguson will be on tap for advice.
I think the squad had been educated well by Ferguson and thus will want to do well for the new guy.

I'm looking forward to seeing young Lingard getting a run in the first team this year, he's looked very impressive along with Januzaj and Zaha during pre season.
