Yuo all seem to be obsessed with gettign off the line, which fair enough, is the Scoobs strongpoint... Play to the focus's strong point (3rd gear and rolling) and the results will be very different

Im sure weve been through this before? I wanted something cheaper to track it... and didnt really want another 3 years of paying off finance, would rather spend the money modding a car haha

BTW I do like both cars - clincher for me was I drive a good bit in winter and had more peace of mind mate with 4wd in snow etc.

As for winder driving, didnt really bother me as both are second cars so not needed during winter months.... but i did get cuaght out in the snow in the mk2 once and have to say drivign to the conditions it handled it fun, but scoob would have been more fun the the 4WD lol

We can agree to disagree on the twisty roads as I noticed a big difference but all about opinions mate.
I haven't studied the RS differences in models apart from the drive I went out in - what year is the better model in most folks opinion mate?

Well we got a lad by us who has a focus rs mk1 and fair play he drives it like its stolen, it has to be said he is a good driver ( does alot of rallying ) but he can put that car anywhere he wants in any position, I kid you not!
I have been white sat in there and I love adrenalin rushes, but that guy is plain and simple sick! Your there saying " slow down u friggin nutter, u ain't getting around there" he looks across and smiles whilst saying " the car does what you want it to do, you just need to know how to drive it" as he's whipping the handbrake, he has honestly had me cacking myself looking at "home made roundabouts from cones " out of the side windows of the car, he has had many many cars inc evo's, scoob's, m3 etc all pretty much drivers cars, and he still maintains that the focus is the best car he has ever driven for keeping it controlled in induced situations, he even sold his rb320 and kept the focus for that reason, as mad as it sounds ( and I'm not sure i would agree )
Just goes to show really alot of the time it comes to driver skills and not down to the car, if somebody had the skills or just plain and simple bigger bolloćks then no matter what you drive it aint going to make a blind bit of difference, I like to think I can keep hold of a car in certain situations, but I can honestly say that guy in the focus would absolutely 100% destroy me, but as said the guy is insane

Yes it's quicker than many cars and slower than some others. So what? I detect a large chip on your shoulder.
It's just funny that a near invisible diesel estate is quicker than a very shouty hot hatch. I like stuff like that.

Only Lux packs, which was things like sat nav etc, just interior things, then the RS500 which was a standard car with the mountune MP350 kit added, and wraped matt black, limited to 500 cars... but not worth the extra money imo... holding the value well though...

my mate has the mp350
found it to be very comfortable and relaxed when flat out.
never owned a mk1 or mk2 but reckon i would have one without a doubt
hoping that my classic type R whips him right enough when its done

Must have out of the extra's is the half leather recaro's imho as transforms the interior of the car. The standard seats are too lairy and too ST for me.

As for whether the E91 335d is faster I am not so sure. The 0-60 seem pretty similar which I would expect the BMW to be better at with RWD. After that with slightly less power and around 200kg extra weight I don’t see the hearse pulling away. If your on about track times then I think you will be surprised at how well the RS handles. It may torque steer but there is very little understeer for FWD.

i loved my mk1, best car ive driven imo other than a GTR.... only time i had a problem with the torque steer in it was when i went to overtake a car and came onto full boost as a wheel hit the cats eyes in the middle of the road! thought i was goign straight in the ditch lol As for the mk2, again i didnt really find it suffers from torque steer, more lift off over steer, but you generally know when its going to do it lol so can just plant the throttleand let it straighten itself out lol
Yeah they do have a "presence" on the roads!

The MK2 still has the same issue with cats eyes. Not quite to that extent but its noticeable. Definetly notice torquesteer even with brand new MSS tyres fitted last week and all 4 wheels re-aligned. I would two hands on the steering wheel as much as possible when making progress.

Wehn i was lookinh i wanted the green cloth seats, but got a good deal on a full spec car (bt+USB, lux 2, half leathers etc) and the leather was such poor quality if i had another id defo wait for one with cloth interior this time.
see i never noticed torque steer in the mk2, the mk1 like you say 2 hands on the wheel as much as possible as it could get a bit lairy! but that was part of the fun when driving it, but mk2 i could quite happily press on with one hand on the wheel... only handing changes i had was MSS and a torque mount if that counts?

Torquesteer is definitely there. I also fitted a torque mount and all that did is reduce axle tramp which is only present when breaking traction so only really an issue in the wet. Maybe less noticeable for you coming from a Mk1 and if the road is flat no real issue but like you say overlapping the cats eyes for an overtake or bumpy roads I would rather both hands on the wheel. I’m not sure if its due to the revoknuckle geometry and / or the low profile tyres but even at low speeds you can feel a slight pull on the tyres when traversing the larger cats eyes. Certainly don’t recall that in my Civic Type R.
The main selling point for me was the soundtrack which was what drew me to Scooby’s initially, then a type r for the VTEC (different kind of noise but nice none the less) and now the Volvo 5 pot. Add to that the turbo whoosh, chirps from the recirc valve (I uprated mine to the Forge one) and the pops from the exhaust it’s a bit of theatre and puts a smile on my face every day.
