How long until you think it will be up and running? If it was me I am not sure if I would want to use it at all, more of a work of art.

I would have a poster of this engine on my bedroom wall if my wife let me.

I know it's none of my business but hope it all works out for you, it would be a real shame to let it go to some lazy git like me to reap the benefits.

Good luck

Chris

Thanks for the compliment Chris, but if you ask anyone that has done a big project that sometimes you feel like your just treading water in the same spot all the time, when you get to that kind of situation you got to ask yourself,do i keep on going in the same direction or do i make a change,i am right at that junction now, thinking that i wish that i had never started or at least done things differently,i have giving myself to the end of this month to make up my own mind whether i go forward and finish or end it right there,i have been talking with a few people so i will give it some hard thought and then make my decision.SJ.

Some people have issues with them S90 throttle bodies where they stick as you progressively apply pedal movement, then jerk open a little giving a horrible response and feel. Its thought its because the butterfly is aluminium as is the body and the way they expand together at the edges etc.

This is a great build bud, well done for sticking with it (I hope you are!).

My Bug is comprehensively modified but the longest it has been off the road at any one time was for its forged engine, which took a couple of months and had me calling Subaru4You every day for updates. I must have driven them mad (still do I think) but Len did his usual brilliant build and transformed the car. But I was getting pretty edgy by the end.

But you've been at it for well over a year, a massive commitment in time (and cash I expect) but it will be one hell of a machine when it's finished. I hope you stick with it and I can't wait to see this car when it's done

Mine was off the road for 3 years. Big builds are not for the feint hearted. But that's what it takes to achieve your goals. Unless you have an endless budget, these things take time.
But the rewards are to be reaped at the end.

Thanks for the positive commentsProjects can have this affect sometimes but life still has to go on in the mean time. After a comprehensive think and chat with Neil i have decided to go on with it,and it will be finished as it was originally intended so hopefully in the not to distant future i will be able to update this thread again.SJ.

Carrying on from the above picture^^^^more parts was purchased for my on going project, this time putting a end to my wallet for good{i am in the market for a new one}.A oil cooler kit was purchased,NGK racing sparkplugs and also a hella horn kit from subimods in the USA,the horn kit was not really necessary at this moment in time but still wanted by meand it worked out cheaper as not to be stung on different occasions with import tax.The main reason for my overseas spending was the fact that i was in the market for some new coil plugs,as if you have been following my wife's project thread you should know that her car had nearly all my STI parts for a full newage to classic conversion. So i have been talking to a few of my cousins in the states who are into the Jap scene and they were telling me about how they have been running okada coil plugs on there evo's and they really noticed the difference with smoother engine running and improved power delivery,so my ears pricked upand i started to do my own investigating i sent a email to discuss with there technical department and was pleasantly surprised with his comprehensive reply and detailed data and science behind them and most of all it made sense. After a months worth of overtimei was able to place my order{There not cheap you know}and they have arrived. My project seems to have a spark again{pun intended}and Neil is on my side so feel better about things i guess dealing with two car projects was one project too much,Sorry Wifebut i will get there in the end hopefully with my mind intact.

HELLA HORN KIT.

NGK RACING PLUGS.

OKADA COIL PLUGS.

PLASMA SPARKS.

OIL COOLER.
