Valhalla power supply came with a new switch. If your switch is a big red rocker switch you don't have the Valhalla. If you have a much smaller flatter switch with a red LED in it you have the Valhalla.

No, 240V just means it's a UK model.

What colour is the TU1800DAB?

I would say it's ok.It's a tuner so will have normal line level output.Your Alpha will probably have an input marked as 'tuner' .

BTW that tuner is +£600 retail.

I would agree.

I've been looking for a decently priced TU1800DAB for ages now, but I need black.

Why bother with a DAB tuner when you could get one of these.

http://www.richersounds.com/product/...eno-dnp720-blk

lots of options and internet radio giving massive choice and great sound quality.

Not sure what it is then? It seems to talk about streaming from an iPod...which I don't have, and seems very Apple orientated. I have no Apple products and don't intend buying any.

What will it do for me?

I wasn't suggesting that it replaced your CD's just a better choice than buying a DAB tuner !

They don't, you connect device to your network and can access any music stored on NAS devices. Also through your Internet connection you can access Internet Radio stations. Playback is through your Hi-Fi system, just connect to your preamp.

I have a Naim ND5XS partnered with a Naim Unitiserve which rips CD's and stores them on hard disc. The ND5XS has been a revelation and highly recommend it

There's lots covering every type of music genre often broadcasting in HD Audio (eg AAC format ) BBCR3 and R4 are currently using this format in HD tests. I could recommend some but you might not like my music tastes (I listen alot to www.radioparadise.com )

I listen to Planet rock and used to love radio caroline, my tastes being quite firmly in the late 60's, early 70's, but not to the exclusion of all else.

I'll look into that Denon thingy. Maybe replace my minidisc player with it. LOL

I'll give Caroline another try, then, last time I tried it wasn't broadcasting at all.

In dock having new transmitting masts fitted.
