Car tax with v11 on traders policy?
My sister bought a car 7 months ago, she has taxed it once with little green slip, the log book still hasn't arrived and now it's due to be taxed again. The post office wont allow her to tax it as the green slip has been taxed. Can I tax my sister vehicle using my motor traders insurance even though she doesnt have v5? We do have the v11 (in previous owners name)

Technically no, as you need to be the registered keeper, all the traders policy does is insure you to drive the vehicle. You should be able to tax it with the v5c (green slip) with your sisters insurance at your local DVLA office.

I would imagine the taxbook has been lost in post. If it has been transferred you should get a reminder in post that you can tax the vehicle with. If book was lost inbound to dvla you will need to pursue a new taxbook
