OK so now i've read that the guy paid £2500 for it, I think you should tell him to go **** himself, because £3200 is just profiteering on your desire for this particular car and at 135k miles its barely worth £2k.

The owner does sound a bit of a chancer. As I mentioned earlier you do have the advantage of knowing how much it was sold for previously; if using that knowledge doesn't get him to relent, you probably won't get it back.

But, at 3200, he is going to have great trouble selling it; don't be surprised if you discover it is still available for a much lower price in a month or two.

Your not wrong, but they can be made to look passable with the right bits, he'd definitely get a decent Blob WRX for circa £4k, then we enter the age old WRX v's STI debate and as he likes to fettle i'd say STI.
