Thanks guys.

Now now frayz, wouldn't want to be embarissing you would I?

Peedee - Paul @ extreme has worked on my car since I got it so ill speak to him first.

Ed - you can come and rebuild it if ya want? Seems like a fair return favour to me.

Matt - I've actually got a 2.0 block in the garage, could have a 2.1 built up. Not too sure if ill miss the torque from the 2.5 though

Seriously, I'd stay 2.5 and get the block worked properly.

Certainly the least amount of messing about for you. You have 2.5l heads with 99.5mm combustion chambers. They suit the 2.5 best or will work on a 2.35. But staying 2.5 is the most cost effective. Personally I'd add some proper rods, pistons, bearings etc. new oil pump, timing belt, head studs and add an SC46. You will have a very responsive and torquey 500bhp motor.

I made white wee wee reading that. Would need to pin the block if I go for that power?
Tbh I was going to leave the rods as I'm not looking at much above 400. Trouble is when I do things I do them with no expense spared and waving 500 stallions in front of my face is not good for my ego!!!

I was thinking about the .25 engine from my rc buggy. Think of the weight saving

Thing is Dan, if you do the rods and pistons then you know it's future proof.
I'd be looking for a solid 450+ spec car and you can sleep knowing its going to be okay.

On the shopping list

Pistons
Rods
Big end and main acl bearings
11 oil pump
Water pump
Oil modine
Cosworth timing belt

And because I'm a bling tart...

CDF red lightweight pulleys.

Already have head studs and exedy clutch

Will access the crank when it's out

Once build is complete and I gain more funds ill be investing in

BIG injectors
Oil cooler
And most likely a sc42 turbo and ill most likely be maxing out on the top mount ic.

Sounds like a good start Dan, for a road car 400/400 in a newage is plenty.

You'll struggle to use more. But I promise no matter how much you have, you'll want more.
I still want more, so if you're doing a build, then may aswell do the right groundwork from the outset.
Then it's just a case of bigger blower and more fuel
