Getting ribbed by the guys I know from the 306 GTi6 crew that I still meet up with, anyway couple of them have high boost supercharged ones and claim that they will slaughter a Scooby.
Does anyone want to come to the next meet and show how its done???

Any intrest from the Essex crew and will advise of date and location

I use to own a VTS Saxo so know how little frenchie fly so I wouldnt fancy your chances tbh, my VTS would sit with newage WRX's quite happily.

Not a 306 but sim weight and I guess power.

Me personally (unless i was frayz) i would stay away.

IMO its a case of utter shame losing to one and nothing to shout about beating one.

Wouldnt mind seeing em go though.

It's this weekend if any one is up for it?
There will be only 306's there and few are supercharged.
The rallye that I was going to buy may be there and it is a machine and now has been rebuilt and supercharged.
It's a good crowd and would be an intesting tip out.

I know they are quick, I had a 212bhp 306 before the Scooby and they do go well, light as f..k and good in the bends.
Good bit of banter with the guys.

I guess they have a 4 cylinder engine with forced induction and so do we so no reason why both cars won't be flying machines. But of course a car is more than straight line speed and I won't be swapping an Impreza for a 306/Saxo!

I'm sure they would stay with standard wrx's @ 215hp.

Not alot to shout about though is it - beating a car with less power and more weight.

Taking a modified car and saying it will slaughter all impreza's is just short sighted imo

It's the light weight that does it. My sons GF has a lovely Fiesta ST supercharged running just under 300bhp I've driven it (but not in anger!) and it feels good with a very linear power delivery. Getting back in the Impreza feels like a bit of a barge until the revs go 3.5k plus then you realise it's a whole new level! Mind you, it's cost a fair few quid to get to that!

Anyone who known Colin's 106 GTI at ATSpeed will know that is a frenchis ie to stay away from, no matter what power your Impreza is running

Tbf that's one scooby that given the attention that the FYI has prob had i personally think the scoob would win hands down.

Like said that's pretty much a straight line race get on the twisty and fwd will lose.

But good video none the less. Private roads I assume

No problem, you are probably the main one that can blow them away!
Wait and see if anyone one else is willing.
May have to battle this one on my own

I won't be racing either, just like minded car nuts having a meet.
I have known this club crew for a while and all good guys, just good banter and chat about cars.
Your presence would be enough to have the shaking in ther boots!
And dribbling over your motor, bibs would be required!
Few have and had Scoobys and know the scene.

Not seen them for a while and will be good catch up and show off my new toy.

Here is a vid of the 106 in action, I think it was "only" 350, now it closer to 430! Well known car in Essex tuning community.
