Two different compensation sources. Victim of crime can apply for criminal cvompensation, whereas this tripping over is civil litigation.

The difference in the amount of compo, is most likely that criminal scum are skint whereas a business has liability insurance.

If she wasn't such a fat ****, the impact load on her arm wouldn't have been as bad in the first place

theres a pic of the kerb on the daily mail site and its not even a high one, she's just a clumbsy bint. police force are urging her to retract the claim.

i would have thought it will be a nightmare for them if she is successfull, imagine the H and S implications, will have to have courses on walking next.

I thought it was an April Fools joke till I read this report

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-22000760

I love this bit:
"Police officers, like other members of the emergency services, accept that when they join up they may have to put themselves in danger in order to do their job," he said.

If she injures herself on duty, she has to report it. Fact.
If she didn't then this will not go any further.
Even if she did, is she serious? She obviously has no problem walking so I really can't see what she hopes to get out of this other than egg on her face.

Truely shocking behavior.

If it gets to court I think she will lose (or token 1p damages) and then be gently ousted from the police service. dl

No, she cannot possibly win anything. The entire saga is a complete waste of time and will open the flood gates if she does succeed.

No she won't...it'll be constructive dismissal.

She'll probably be "reassigned" a cushy desk job.

Police force is a joke from what I see. Far too many overweight coppers cutting about. There should be mandatory annual fitness tests for police, as well as height / weight restrictions. Ive seen plenty of coppers who are about 5ft tall and look like they've just came out of school, no wonder people aren't bothered about committing crime......not as if most coppers can 'run' after them anymore!! Could you see this woman running particularly far?

If I was a woman who was suffering domestic abuse at the hands of my boyfriend / husband and called the police, I would want a 'proper' copper to turn up at my door, not some fat, short muppet who was still wet behind the ears.

IMO, male and female coppers should have minimum height restrictions and should have to pass annual strength and fitness tests.
All understood.

I think that makes it all even worse then!

She is obviously working her ticket as she is " now on sick leave over an unrelated medical condition which requires an operation."

Says it all really.
