Compensation culture of today. Part of reason for economic decline - premiums have rocketed because of these type of claims .also today's police are not same stock as used to be , all seem like there not interested as such just after the monthly pay cheque, unless u happen to be driving a Scooby then there on u like a shot. Good thing that new pnc checking saves hastle of stopping . Poor garage owner must be pretty fed up to say the least. 50 k ! Wow no wonder people are claiming. Did she graze her knee I wonder or shatter her knee into bits ? .

Have you seen the state of the officer in question??
I surprised she could get up enough speed to trip on something in the first place.
And they wonder why the publics respect for the police is at an all time low!!

People 'are not' accountable for their own actions (stupidity) nowadays, it's everyone elses faults and these no win no fee lawyers are to blame IMO.

I would be asking for her to have an eye test & fitness assessment to see if she should even be on duty.
I think we should all ask the police for a health & safety check of all our properties so we can be sure they don't sue if we call them out.

Should we all start putting in claims if we trip over a kerbstone when crossing the road to enter a police station? Or even climbing some steps going up to the door!
I can't believe her police force is backing her by submitting the claim.

Police force is a joke from what I see. Far too many overweight coppers cutting about. There should be mandatory annual fitness tests for police, as well as height / weight restrictions. Ive seen plenty of coppers who are about 5ft tall and look like they've just came out of school, no wonder people aren't bothered about committing crime......not as if most coppers can 'run' after them anymore!! Could you see this woman running particularly far?
If I was a woman who was suffering domestic abuse at the hands of my boyfriend / husband and called the police, I would want a 'proper' copper to turn up at my door, not some fat, short muppet who was still wet behind the ears.
IMO, male and female coppers should have minimum height restrictions and should have to pass annual strength and fitness tests.

First thing I thought when I saw the pic was "how long ago was this?"...Then I saw the date in which she "tripped" 25th August 2012....there's no way she got that "athletic" physique in the space of 6months! Seriously, if this is a representation of the state of our "front line" police officers, then it shows what a farce our police are. How does she arrest people...by sitting on them so they can't escape?
Reminds me of when I was chased by a van load of 4ft5" tall twenty-something WPCs*. When they piled out the van it looked like a episode of the of the Benny Hill show!
(nothing against young and short WPCs, but you know if they were confronted by a large lad one-on-one, the only way they'd make a arrest is by kicking them in the nads )

She should have used her issued torch. If she failed to do so, then kick out the claim.
I bet there is actually more to it, I suspect she's trying to get a double compo claim as she's going to be "victimised" and then go for a constructive dismissal claim or something along those lines, or she's already in her way out, so seeking some money to help her on her way.
One of the lads I worked with was cycling home when hit by a car which didn't stop and left him for dead. He spent months in hospital, last thing I heard was he was still blind in one eye as a result of the accident, but he hasn't sued the guilty party. He's unlikely to work as a front-line police officer again, so I hope this woman is made an example of.
