mine only £500 fully comp fully protected all mods listed but no real power gain mods only PPP so £500 not bad im not 20 years old tho
I was quite naughty when younger driving so would have prehaps been bit better than that.
so be good ;-) .
do you have a good history of faster cars? that sometimes helps things aswell as age.

lol some of these prices are stupid.
there are so many factors when it comes to insurance eg postcode, age, points, mods, UK or import, job, how many been stolen/crashed etc.
the thing is ok the UK spec are cheaper to insure but i find there's so many imports that are reg'ed as a non turbo and people lie to get the quotes down eg there's no mods its garaged i only do 3k a year the funny thing is if you crash it your so called insurance is void.
to OP if you want a sti then make sure you insure it properly cause if you crash it and insure it as something its not it pushes everyone else's insurance up.

I've tried since i was 18 to insure an impreza only dropped from around 3k to 1300 when i was 21. Got a hawk sti with exhaust declared with elephant for around 1300, got my mum and dad as my named drivers, brought it down a fair bit.

Gotta love how some folk quite obviously lie about how much there policies cost!
I'm 30, 8 years no claims, no points or previous in the past 5 years, held a license since 2001 and my car is insured under an Army barracks I.e a secure, non-public compound, probably the most secure place with exception to your car being on the moon. I pay £605 per year, that's with the tracker registered and activated and an aftermarket cat1 cobra alarm.
Although when I was 18, I managed to get insured on a Ferrari f40 for just £200 a year....stuck me old dear on it didn't I......right shrood move!!

A buddy of mine has an FQ360, is 24 and reckons he pays £800. Hmmm...

I've just had a young lad of 19 buy my M3 cab today, he's paying £4850 and insured it there and then Infront of me, I know the boy and has been involved with cars from a young age, he was trading before he even had a licence with the help of his mother, fair play to him I say at least he's dug his hand in his pocket and insured it correctly, he's always pestered me about it and now he finally has it, in his words " its only money, at least I got something I really want " best of luck to him I say

My postcode must be decent I guess, as I'm paying less for my first time Scooby than some are for older and slower cars despite being 4 or 5 years my senior.
I don't think people are lying, insurance costs just seem to vary massively for seemingly insignificant factors.

Mine was the same on my RS, i bought it in august, and couldnt get insured for less than £4000, waiting till september (when i turned 21) and it went down to £900! also looked at an evo at the same time as the RS, that was £7000+ in august, then went down to around £1500 when i turned 21....

There is no way on this Earth that some of these policies on here are as cheap as they are. I just don't see the point in lying about it.

It's obvious that some folk are quite clearly bull****ing about how much they pay for some reason. Yes, postcode does make a difference, as do many other factors. I paid £1600 on my first car at 18, a 1.2 corsa, and im sure there are lots of other 'old people' on here that were in the same situation.....lots of money for not much of a car, mind you, this was back in the good ol' days when us oldies were frivolous young whippersnappers.

i agree with the above though, there is either some bullsh1tting about prices or the insurance isnt properly done.
i live in a good postcode with full ncb and no points and several years experience of impreza's thats why mine is reasonable.
i know most specialist require you to be at least 25 with performance car experience.

Try Admiral. I have a multicar with them.
I had a blob wrx till recently and was £420, traded it for a 2010 sti saloon and was charged a extra £31.50.
7 years ncb, 24 and just me and the girlfriend on the policy.
Surprised it was so cheap as my S2000 was £650 just the other month
