I used a viraity of diffrent stuff mate WD40,brake cleaner,Auto glym engine cleaner, metal polish and a variety of brushes, toothbrush, different compound wire wool, and sand paper lol...... it no where near where i want it to be though it still looks tatty as hell, i think one day il get most the engine out and repaint the lot haha

yeh although im gutted it was literally swirl free when i bought it because they mopped it and detailed it, id done a good job of keeping it topped up but had no choice but to take it to the polish because it was filthy and moved house so never had a hose. long story shot its now covered in holograms, im sooo pissed !!!!.

Hey man, Love the car! Ive just bought my first Subaru as well and its exactly the same as yours
I want to do the same to my headlights, just a few questions.
How did you split them?
I take it you used primer, gloss black then a lacquer?
When you remove the orange bit at the top have you got to change the bulb to an orange one or whatttttt? that bit confuses me haha.
Any tips to help me to do this...
Cheers

just primer and black mate, didn't bother with lacquer, you can either put them in the oven, in front of a space heater or use a heat gun, there are screws in the back, take them all out and heat it up it will then go tacky and pull apart very easy.....and yeh you will need orange indicators, i would recommend silvertec ones rather than orange ones
