My Black WRX STI Blobeye
Hi guys i'm new to Scoobynet and scoobys full stop, this is my first jap car, iv owned french cars since i passed my driving test and i can say i'm loving every minute of it.
Little info on my self, My names Dom i'm 21 and i live in leamington spa.
everyone love pictures so hears a few of my previous cars,
First my 206 GTI180, it was quite modded and was the 2nd one in the country/world to be cammed. all the work carried out by pug1off:
I then sold it and bought a Renault Megane R26, didn't get to do any performance mods just visual really, i loved this car and had no intentions to sell but my best mate offered me cash and i couldn't really turn it down:
On to the scooby, i bought it from a dealer so don't know much about its spec (thats the only issue buying a car like this from a dealer) but it came with 6 months gold star warrantee the people i bought the car off are a BMW and prestige car specialist, the car was fully detailed before i bought it including wheels off and cleaned, i littrally cant fault it, its immaculate!.
So the spec i know of
- PPP
- Black wheels
- Tinted windows
- Tein lowering springs
- Magnex Decat Centre section
- Alpine double din headunit with satnav and TV :-D
it has an exhaust but i'm not sure what it is i think it may just be a jap can as it has no markings as far as i can see but it sounds quality so not complaining.
it had just been serviced including new brake pads and all oils changed, with brand new tyres (continental sport contact 5's) and the cam belt was changed 7k miles ago :-D.
So today i spent 8 hours cleaning it, since it had just been detailed all the dirt just ran off most of the time was spent trying to clean the engine bay which was a mess!! and as you can see from my previous cars the engine is a very big thing for me, so onto the pics
before:
After:
Fitted HID's today so 50/50

I would say the megane handles a lot better buy obviously you could probably do a lot to make the scoob as good but then again you could always more more to the megane again it comes with lsd and stuff so track driving is really fun, I get less body roll in my Scooby but that doesn't really mean much......... Speed and acceleration I'd say the Scooby accelerates a hell the of a lot quicker due to 4 wheel drive but once moving I don't think there would be a massive amount in it to be honest...... But there are loads more after market stuff for the subaru....... As I said I loved my megane and had no intention to sell it there great cars!

Welcome mate, nice looking car you have there.
I'm local, from Warwick and now living towards Rugby way. Was it Harbury lane for the container photos?
Would recommend Mark at TDR in Warwick for any mechanical/uprating work buddy. An opensource remap to account for the decat centre and dump valve would be useful (not essential) for peace of mind and a nice power hike.

The other option for me was API in Harbury so plenty options around hear I just want to get her on a dyno and see what she's putting out

So, aside from 1st gear off the line.. Say if you were in 2nd or 3rd in the megane and nailed it, does it feel as quick as the subaru doing the same?

No it doesn't but my megane was standard power wise if I put the Scooby up against a stage two megane it would probs sit flat if not pull away from the Scooby but there pretty maxed on stage two at 280bhp where as I have a lot more to go now

had a busy few days this week.... managed to get my headlights done, one step closer to being fully stealth, while i was there i decided to spray my intercooler instead on polishing it because i plan to change it to a front mount eventually and it seemed like the easiest option for now........also managed to fit my plates ( i mounded the front a little too high, again with the intention for a front mount eventually though..
This should probs be moved to the project section now lol
pardon the poor quality phone pics :-D
