I don't really drive to conserve fuel, just drive it how the road/traffic conditions allow. I get better mpg than I thought that I would - I get about 25-29 mpg and no-one overtakes me.
I remember the bloke who I bought it off when I asked if it had cruise control "you don't cruise in this type of car" and he was right!!
Can't remember the blokes name who said about not taking it over 3k cos why risk the car... But that likes having a stunning girlfriend and not really having all the jollies with her that you could in case she got pregnant... If you've got it you may as well enjoy it!!

I do a 50 mile round trip five days a week every other week (lift share in my other half's diesel Clio the in between weeks), plus journeys to see family and to the shops etc, spend about £200 in fuel a month.

Hawkeye WRX.
£65 Momentum 99 fill-up every 2½ weeks takes me between 175–200 miles on a short 8 mile round trip, urban commute.
Managed to squeeze 220 miles out of a tank once by driving like a saint for a whole tank full. No fun. Never again.

I don't bother counting to be honest, whatever I pay is worth it for the smile on my face at driving something fun.
I'm so glad I've never been stuck in something boring on my commute.

I hope you change your oil every other month or so... that much time at cold idle with the engine running rich, which it is, could easy lead to bore wash and oil contamination with petrol witch in turn could lead to a dead engine.
Remind me not to buy that car off you pls.
you would be better to idle for a count of 20sec, then drive a longer way so you cover 10 miles each way, keeping it under 3k till water at temp, then under 4k till the couple of miles.

I fill up every 2 weeks, our roads are bad over here.
Managed to get from Bristol to Southampton only using 1/4 tank yesterday but we weren't going quick due to the weather. Used 1/2 a tank going up there

He either drives everywhere in first gear or there's something wrong with it. All mine have averaged 55 mpg with over 60 on long runs.

I drive to work on a monday and home on a fri, around 100miles e/w and depending how I drive that costs me £60-£70 then I use another £20 every weekend! Soooo £320-£360 a month.
BUT I could not drive to work in anything else as the times I drive at, if I wasnt burning loads of fuel I would probably fall asleep, crash and die lol Love the drive, gives me something to drag myself out of bed on a monday

I've got a Blobeye Sti with TSL333, I'm doing between £50-£60 every 2weeks doing around 200 miles. I also work 3 miles away so do short trips but use it more on my days off.

I only live 2 miles from work and even taking a long route the car's probably not getting fully warmed up. Last tank was 201 miles to just over the fuel light kicking in. Say 48 litres. Not great mpg but past caring if it runs rich as I'll jump on my tredder. On a good run maybe see 22-25mpg, classic wagon running 284/317.
