Scooby daily drivers, whats your cost on fuel a month?

Just curious peolpe what are your fuel costs a month for impreza daily drivers as im putting in £170 - £200 a month.
I only work 5 miles away maybe its all the small journeys i do that it seems high. Think im only getting 15 to 20 miles a gallon.

Dale17 14 January 2013 07:38 PM

Well I put between 60-70 a week in so x4 is roughly 240-280 a month :(

LVC 14 January 2013 07:39 PM

Only had my Hawkeye WRX less than a month but am averaging 26mpg at the moment - have the advantage of long empty roads over here though ;)

cossie_eater 14 January 2013 07:41 PM

£60 a week, but who cares. We own scooby's :)

Infected by sti 14 January 2013 07:42 PM

Don't feel bad lofty I'm in the same position as you :lol1:

Tbh I couldn't care less about fuel, I don't spend my money on crap anymore an I enjoy my car every time I get in there, money well spent in my book :)

Getting an exhaust leak sorted now and a map tweak next month and fingers crossed it may get a little better :D

Myles 14 January 2013 07:43 PM

£60 every ten days-ish.

mystery_machine 14 January 2013 07:44 PM

Fill up every two weeks.....

The Pink Ninja 14 January 2013 07:45 PM

Depends on mileage but i average around 200 miles to a tank @ 18.2 MPG, So at current costs around 35p per mile :lol1:

bioforger 14 January 2013 07:46 PM

Sounds about right Lofty. 330bhp Newage STi, £65 every 1.5weeks, so ~ £175 / month. Averaging 19mpg on a 16mile urban round trip everyday.

daz1968 14 January 2013 07:48 PM

I put about £50 a week in but the way I look at it I enjoy driving it and couldn't be the same with a small Eco car so its worth the extra

Dan- 14 January 2013 07:49 PM

i do about 80 miles a week put about £48 average tesco 99 in so not that bad tbh! and as said who cares you drive a scooby :D

tattoosi 14 January 2013 07:50 PM

Yes! Ive been spending about the same for 5 1/2 years now and don't regret a penny of it. The kids have no shoes, but hey they'll be ok!

tubbytommy 14 January 2013 08:09 PM

a normal car isnt cheap to run nowadays due to our wonderful government so i wouldnt worry.

_Viktor 14 January 2013 08:12 PM

Bugeye WRX UK
a 20 miles each way commute (1/2 in heavy traffic) give me almost exactly 300 miles to 50 ltrs when the orange light comes on from std 98. = 10.4ltr/100 Km or 27Mpg
which in local money is about 82euros.

just tried VPower 2 weeks ago, and too soon to confirm, but I appear to be getting about 325-330miles from the same 50ltrs.
= 9.6L/100km or 29Mpg

so you get 5 mpg and 50 mpg:lol1:

Moley 14 January 2013 08:19 PM

When i was using the Impreza every day it was just over £400 per month.

I now use a diesel to go to work in, and the Mrs uses the Impreza for her commute (much more local)

dsemuk 14 January 2013 08:20 PM

Having driven diesels for about 15 years before I got the scooby I can tell you, the burble of a scooby is far better than the clatter of a diesel, yeah MPG is good for a diesel, but you don't realise the noise you are suffering until you get back into a petrol car.

I fill up with v Power about every 10 days, the Skoda Fabia VRS would have gone all month on £70

blackvenom 14 January 2013 08:24 PM

I must spend about 40 a week, get 200 miles from that. That's country b roads with a few a roads.
So that's 31.5mpg according to this site http://www.fuel-economy.co.uk/calc.shtml

bioforger 14 January 2013 08:26 PM

lol 30mpg+ you must be driving it off boost, what is the point?

Yes most is under 3k. Unless I'm in a rush or have a clear dry road why risk the car
